Faction police are the guys who try to kill you when you enter hisec as a criminal, (ie, -3 sec status in a 0.9 system) and yes they can point you.

The faction navy is what attacks you if you have -5 standings with that faction or are on the other side of FW; they do not point you. Ever. Ever ever ever. Believe me, I've dealt with them lots, as has Loren, Jalmon, or anyone else who does FW hisec ganks.


Navy and Police are a breed apart. Navies can be tanked with a high rep fit. Police cannot. The dps is significantly higher, there's the point mentioned already, and in higher secs they neut you. Don't bother trying.
