There's been a heck of a lot of confusion over how this voting system works, so I wrote a little walk through for it.

what's your opinion on something like golden spaceships ?

I've been trying to tell my alliance leader that my mining is worth more than his tech moons for months. Thanks for giving me some better numbers as ammo.

I added a link to a complete simulation of your sample election in the comments. Thanks for the clear explanation of the process.

I have endorsed mynnna - in part because it amuses me that he is running because his wife told him to :) and because I actually think he will speak on behalf of all the player base rather than just advocating that which will help the goons.

This is not a signature.

Point of clarity - various people had been pressuring me to run for quite some time beforehand. When I told my wife about it, she served as a tie-breaker of sorts. Blink

What it comes down to is this: If CCP wants us to build locally, from materials sourced locally, then it needs to be advantageous to do so from an effort & logistics perspective compared to throwing the finished goods into a JF and making a bunch of JF trips. Nerfing JFs and importation into the ground is a way of doing that, but it's an awfully abusive way of doing it. Conversely, if mechanics revamps (which we might get some or all of in Odyssey, that remains to be seen) make it so that it is advantageous to source and build locally, we won't really need any special incentive like "golden ships" to do so.

Having read this entire thread and your articles on TMDC, I found nothing that would change my mind about voting for you.

As much as I like you as a candidate I will not be voting for yourself simply because you are guaranteed a place on the CSM, however with that said congrats on making it through.

My conception/misconception is passive incomes are not all that desirable... maybe to supplements a players income, but it should never be a major source. The fact the Alliances/Corp have a passive income is just wrong.

Every Goonswarm rep that has been on the CSM for a good while has stated that alliance income should be driven from the bottom up rather than the opposite direction as it is now.

As much as people may hate the goons they have to admit that they have been saying for at least the last 2 years that income should be bottom up.

Personally I would love a system were grunts earn the isk and the alliance earns isk via a alliance tax instead what we have now which is grunts in null sec earn very little isk and the select few earn a insane amount of isk.

Blink I am only six months old, so this is the first election I have seen.

My dealings with the 'Goons' (those vile scum who foam at the mouth) are restricted to a brief forum interaction in Oct/Nov with a FC regarding the planning, logistics and training for ganking freighters and now mynnna. I neither case did these representatives of the Goonswarm live up to... or down to... the image I have been given for that group. Very disappointing... they need to work on that. Blink

Congratulations mynnna. I think the CSM will be better with you on it.

It's far more entertaining these days to say level-headed, sensible, uncontroversial things then sit back and watch as forum idiots thrash wildly around proclaiming that since a Goon just said 1+1=2, this must be a lie and therefore 1+1=purple.

Every time you post a WiS thread, Hilmar strangles a kitten.

you know the thing i like about you mynnna, u understand that pretty much all mechanics affect a great deal more things than can be brainstormed typically in 5 minutes. its your attention to detail that i have to applaud u on, and something that i think will serve u well on ur way to being part of the next CSM.

i do however have some questions / proposals / alternative approaches for you to consider:

after reading your views on an improved highsec, and malcanis' highsec manfesto i understand and respect that highsec has been unbalanced for a long while. too much safety and 1st class services available. ive read no better blueprint for this than malcanis', but it doesnt mean we cant go deeper.

Malcanis' manifesto looks at new eden in a security level perspective, breaking it down traditionally by high low and null security levels. These levels manifest themselves in game by the levels of security (concord , sentry guns, weapon usage bans).
What if we layered on to that mechanics that are affected by standings towards the 4 empire factions? ill give some examples:

  • Further reduced/increased costs on industry jobs based on faction standings.
  • Access restrictions on station repair facilities for negative faction standings.
  • Additional faction navy assistance to pilots with high faction standings being engaged in and out of war decs.
  • Increased granularity and cost of war decs based on corp standings with concord and the 4 main empire factions.
  • The ability to create war decs restricted to specific locales (open warfare in a mixture of the 4 empire factions space)

these are a few ways i can see adding additional content and new dynamics to old or otherwise rather mundane mechanics in high sec and lowsec.

One of the other areas i know you have very particular views with is the whole AFK camping / local = too much info, area. i appreciate both arguments for afk camping, i do also believe that the intel gained by local is in some way justified by taking holding and upgrading/improving your own space, however, the all seeing eye of local needs to have its achilles heel(s) as to catch the ignorant and reaffirm darwinism in null.

Clocking in!
One such method is to attach gates a sort of receptionist role, checking in people using it or in its vicinity. So uncloaked ships on its grid would auto-register in local, however cloaked ships on gate grids would not unless they decloak and recloak and/or otherwise interact with the gate. This 'service' could even become a possible low ehp target for small roaming gangs tha can be repaired easily or returns to normal operation within 1 hour due to high passive HP regen.

This presents interesting opportunities:

  • Entry into null sec systems via wormholes do not register until ships appear on gate grids.
  • Entry into null sec systems via cynos do not register (unless said cyno is on gate grid) or ships appear on gate grids.
  • Small gangs can run 'interference' operations to disrupt local-intel reporting or even hide a larger fleets movements.
  • Highsec mining groups/ wspace residents can take advantage of WH's into quiet systems to ninja mine materials

anyway, thanks for your time mynnna, good luck with your candidacy and if u can give some thought to this utterly terrible post id very much appreicate it :P

cheers!

See more lies from Goonswarm 1+1 is actually equal to pie, preferably blueberry.

But on a more serious note In the CSM 7 elections I referred to the members of Goonswarm as Goonsheep. I take it back.

Compared to Trebors voters you are all pillars of wisdom.

They cannot understand how he failed as CSM6 secretary.
They do not even try to explain that in CSM 7 as Vice chairman he failed miserably with Seleene in communicating with the people of EvE. Just look at how many town halls they promised and how many were actually delivered. Not to mention the fact this forum was a grave yard.

But worst of all is the fact they have no idea what he is actually running for this year, at all and according to his Crossing Zebras interview, neither does he.

So my apologies for accusing you of being mindless sheep, as I think I have found those that are truly mindless, well I hope so.

But on the bright side following Trebors advice no one should endorse him on their ticket as he obviously has a block, well this voters do in place of their brains.

And is it just me or have Goonswarm policies become less extreme this year?

Any spelling, grammatical and punctuation errors are because frankly, I don't care!!
