Check the map for ship kiils, find a quiet spot and go at it. When people are in local keep dscan up.

This is exactly the model I've been using for my brief excursions into low-sec. Getting used to the key things to remember has been my primary aim - recon the route/systems you're travelling in - check for recent ship/pod kills; check for gate-camps on arrival - DON'T PANIC! if there is one; check local for possible threats; remember to d-scan.

Sure I'm not the biggest bad pirate out there, but right now lots of potential threats still show as neutral on my Overview. Perhaps the Goons will show up as neutral!! Shocked

Got some fitting work to do - I'm orbiting way too close at the moment in missions with quite small guns. I think the Sharpshooter skill will help improve my range, but maybe there's other things that can help. OTOH....fast frigate orbiting tight using small guns - does that mean I'm moving too quickly in a 1-v-1? Assuming I'm lucky enough to get a 1-v-1 of course!! Big smile

The more I learn the more I realise there is to learn.....
