i am not sure if this is the right place to post this but i dont know where else to put it. i am wondering if i am in a war dec and i drop my corp i know that i cant join a new corp for a week but when i drop to a noob corp does the war dec go away or can i still be attacked for 24 hrs.

You can join a new corp right away. You just can't rejoin the same corp for seven days.

And no, you instantly become not a target.

What's the best way for a newbie miner corp to avoid a wardec from a merc corp? One of my buddies has a small (<10 man) corp that has been targeted by a certain well-know merc. Would constantly forming new corps be enough of a deterrant, or should he look to take some other action seeing as it is a merc after him, not just some griefer corp?

You mess with the standings of the Merc corp...

1) Get one of your other characters to create a Corp.
2) You apply with the War Decced toon to the new corp
3) New CEO sends invite to War Decced toon (works way better when everyone in your corp does it and make sure your roles are dropped.
4) When the shooting starts accept the invite
5) Merc tears all around
