Unstable connection when someone is running a torrent client on the network.

So this problem has been consistent since Christmas. If someone (not me) is running a Torrent client on the network, eve says socket closed within 2 minutes of logging in (after a good minute of having already lagged out, an refusing to close in this period). Without fail.

I have not seen this issue in a single other online game or online program, Skype, Dota2, Teamspeak etc never get in anyway disrupted. What is causing this sensitivity? I can't really be expected to tell other people to "stop what you are doing, I need to play Eve!"
