Standings question.

Ok so I am working on putting up my own Empire POS in a 0.5 system, I know that I need a corp standing of 5.0 with my given faction to do this.

But my question is does it need to be the pure amount or does connections have an impact on my standings.

So my standings say for example;

Amarr Empire 1.2 (Connections 2 raises your effective standing from .43)

So does it take the 1.2 into consideration or is it the .43?

Connections is indeed factored in.

It's you corpporations faction standings that matter. You're not anchoring it for yourself. You're doing it for the corp, so your personal skills won't matter.

Nope.

As proof I have well over 5.00 with Gallente due to Connections but have 4.80 or so without.

My corp (of just myself) is unable to anchor a POS in their space...

Yeah ok that makes sense.

I was just wondering because i was only going to make a corp with 1 toon in it, but what you guys are saying does make sense.

Confirming connections is not taken into account and that only base standing is considered.

Also, that corp standing is the relevant one. If you create a corp with just you in it, it will take seven days for the corp to inherit your standings. This may not show automatically and you may have to clear cache to get it to kick in.

There are players who pimp out their standings to help people put up POS structures. It does cost a bit of isk though. Usually it is best to operate a corp with a 0.0 standings toon so that the standings buff of the hired characters is not effected negatively.

Over 2 years ago this is how my alt and my partners alt placed our POS. If I remember correctly at the time the cost was around 100 million or more. Also you need to use a reputable source for this service as until they are paid they require you to set them as CEO of the corp and then they give it back once you have paid then you have a small window to place the tower.

When calculating your standings you also need to account for the rounding of the number, it can say you have 5.0 standings but you really might actually have 4.96324758374958473 or something.

Your corp standings are what matters and they come from your unmodified (before the connections modifier) personal faction standings in the case of a one man corp, if there's several members the corporate standings are taken from the average unmodified standings of all corp members.

If you don't have the required standings you can hire someone to raise an existing corporations standings which takes 7 days, best way to do this is to make a completely neutral alt the CEO, and remove all other members except the person you hired. Alternatively you can buy an existing corporation with the required standings from one of the many people who offer both services.

In the beginning there was nothing, which exploded.
