after todays patch i cannot open eve at all the launcher opens then i click play and then for a split seccond an eve client opens then shuts down

I'm hitting this problem as well.

I have the client installed via Steam, and standalone into a different directory. An attempted Steam launch errors out with some bunch of weird Python spew (as in Python, the scripting language). An attempted launch via the app silently fails.

I've tried various troubleshooting steps on the wiki page (delete the ini file, try again, etc.) but nothing has worked. I think I might just delete my install (standalone app) and redownload. Argh.

Oddly the few times Ive had this issue I just kept trying to open it, and eventually it opened. Usually. Other times Ive had to run the repair tool, or even delete everything and start over. But the current patch does work. I can run 3 clients at once on my MBP and as long as I keep Firefox closed, no freezes, no crashes, no "socket closed". If I use Firefox, I might get a freeze.
