im looking for a pvp perspective on this im trying to decide what race to go for my pvp.

I'm hearing a lot about the falcon?

caldari pvp ships that are useful at present

1. Blackbird/Falcon/Scorpion - Because of Falcon many poor feckers lost their ships

2. Drakes - The caldari's swiss army knife of ships... can be fitted for pvp & pve at the same time

3. Chimera - The pos repper and one of the two super cap's battery recharger ships (other being the amarrian archon)

4. Tengu - Excellent for solo pve & if used in large numbers excellent for pvp too ... see pl's tengu fit

5. Phoenix - Excellent for structure bashing but not much else as missile tracking is non existent if your target is moving.

Everytime you buy something that says "made in china" you are helping the rising unemployment in your own country unless you are from china, Buy locally produced goods and help create more jobs.

Frigates:

Kestrel - MSE + Rockets makes a decent missile PVP boat.
Merlin - Hybrids + rockets + MSE + full tackle makes for a very tanky frigate.
Hookbill with 2 webs makes for a nice rocket boat.

Cruisers:

Caracal with Assault missiles makes for a excellent frigate killer.

Battlecruiser:

Drake has crazy awesome buffer while packing heavy assault missiles that get decent range and damage.

Battleship:

Scorpion will jam your pants off, expect to get primaried alot.
Raven - torps against larger ships is pretty awesome. Don't see it very often in pvp though. Torps hit smaller ships like crap.

Assault frigs:

Hawk is pretty cool with a oversized booster, or some people go full ewar with armor instead.
Blaster harpy is pretty cool - I havn't flown it but it looks viable.

Heavy assault ships:

Eagle - sniper, I've never seen one. I think it's pretty bad.
Cerberus - VERY long range missile spewer. Honestly a drake just looks better for pvp. I could be wrong.

Recons: FALCON! MAKER OF RAGE! DRINKER OF TEARS! basically a cloaking cruiser with obscene jamming capability. It's a force multiplier and makes your gang much more dangerous. Not that great solo.

Rook - non cloaky version of falcon. Has more tank and slightly more dps. I suppose it's ok in gangs but I havn't used it. I can't say.

Logistics ship is the basilisk - normally looked over for the scimitar because of scim's better agility/speed and sig. But if you have more than one basi working together they start becoming better than scims in my opinion.

I may be off on many of these ships since I rarely fly Caldari.

They do well, but they're also primaried. Bonus is the BB is cheap as hell, so you can fill your hangar with them and not worry about your inevitable losses.

Most survivable Falcon fleet pilots generally stay cloaked until the engagement has already started, then decloak and jam while at the edge of range.

Cerebus are great anti-frig ships - basically a Caracal with a better tank.

Also, Basilisk are beat by Scimi on a 1:1 basis, but a group of 6 basi is generally regarded as better than 6 scimi, unless high mobility is important.

ECM. ECM, and some ECM.

And a teeny bit of DPS, but really ECM.
