At F%#&ing last!!!! Other CSM candidates might want to take note of this particular point as the rest of you seem to think this is an alternative to life rather than just a game!!

Good luck Mang!!

Hopefully you can guide CCP into turning highsec combat outside of RvB into something fun and varied, RvB has been of great service to EVE by providing large numbers of quality targets.

Will you still be running / participating in RvB Ganked fleets if(once?) you are elected for CSM?

Voting for Mang, Not only has he been a good friend, but his enthusiasm for and knowledge of EVE is expansive to say the least, Voting for Mang really is about having someone on the CSM that isn't a puppet and actually has kahunas of his own and is realistic enough to go for the stuff CCP can get done.

Essentially, Vote Mang, He'll "Get S**t Done".

You've got my vote, Mang. Easiest voting decision I've ever made.

Mang not only "gets" Eve from a variety of perspectives - from carebear to FC - he has the personality, drive, intelligence, communication and diplomatic skills necessary, in my humble opinion, to be an effective and successful member of the CSM.

Furthermore, as someone who deals with the nightmares of managing multi-corp fleets and the horror that is fleet management, ANYONE who says that one of their goals is improving fleet management is +1 for me!! :)

Luv ya Mang! But I'm not a zombie! :)

(P.S. I'm working on a fleet window video for the newbies with a major emphasis on broadcasting! I'll be sure to share it with you first! Promise I won't sound like a cyborg flight attendant on this one!)

Thank you for answering my questions! Sadly I am unwilling to support your candidacy with such views on the obviously overpowered cloaking. (I encourage you to look at Twitch.tv to see how far this issue has grown)

I am glad to see CSM candidates showing more support for Incursions this year however. If CSM8 could bring balance to cloaking, get changes done to POS, and restore some of the good that was Incursions it would be one of the best yet in my opinion.

I know you have probably moved on and found other candidates to ask these questions of - and I thank you for presenting us all with the same ones, they have made for interesting reading when browsing other Candidates threads - however I do urge you to NOT allow the few negative answers you have received from several (all) of us to put you off the voting process.

So come the primary vote later this month, choose a Candidate closest to what you want and vote for them. Then in the STV vote in early April, ensure you do not disenfranchise yourself over 1 or 2 unfavourable responses from the Candidate pool. Order the 14 who come closest to your ideals in any order you want, but please make sure you vote!

Mangala,

Today apparently there is a big debate between different groups in EVE.

You have the ones asking for a buff to Null sec industry with a nerf to High Sec industry, other groups want the nerf of all forms of income in HS so Null alts have to go back to Null to make money, also there are groups that want security in HS to be nerfed and barges dial back to before buff so they can go back to gank barges with a single Catalist.

How do you position yourself in the middle of all this groups?

Agnar, thanks for the post.

Null sec v High sec Industry.
Right now, industrial capacity in Null pales to that found in Empire (low & high). Just considering manufacturing on its own, there are systems in Empire with more capacity for that than entire regions of Null, so yes something has to change.

However, rather than simply nerfing industry in high sec - by reducing slots, upping costs or outright removing it or whatever the flavour of the month suggestion is - why not start with increasing the available total capacity in null sec? Vastly up the slots available in outposts, double the slots found in stations in NPC cores/NPC regions. Increase refinery percentages to much closer to high sec figures. Outpost bonuses could also be increased from the 30% average they are now to 40% or even 50% bonuses - especially refinery related ones.

(This could be even "rp'd" in that Capsuleer Empires are now so powerful they are getting closer and closer to matching the Factions in terms of wealth & infrastructure. As seen by near overnight upgrades to Capsuleer owned outposts all over New Eden.)

Why do I think this? I think because you need a carrot and not a stick when it comes to treating with your average person. The carrot in this case is slots that are actually available, better bonuses, maybe free (dependent on alliance), closer to your chosen market, removal of transpo costs = more profit. And this is just one carrot, there are others such as increasing mineral yields in null, adding more low end minerals to the high end ore's out in null and so on...

Nerf to all high sec forms of income.
Yeah. No.
The problem is not that high sec is too lucrative, the problem is that those arguing for nerfs to high basically want more targets in low or null (especially there considering the state of the sov game right now).

Lets assume for a second nerfs did happen and some people went to null to make their isk, null would still be pretty barren. People would want to rat/anom in the best locations and those closest to hub areas so they could be "safe".

One solution could be to actually make living in a system matter,

What do I mean?
To maintain ownership of a system a group must be active in it - be it mining, missioning, ratting, or even pvping. The more a system is used the better it gets (some would say have it get worse), although as with the current system there would be a limit to how far the improvements go and how many people they support. So then people need to spread to another system and another and so on. If space is not used, then its ownership decreases until it becomes unclaimed by anyone. Players would have to spread out to maintain their alliances control, people who want targets could find more during a roam, and alliance wallets should earn more tax income from people npcing.

"I should be able to gank things easily again"
While I do feel that high sec is now a safer than it was when I first started playing, I think that anyone wanting to roll the clock back to the salad days of being able to easily gank anything they want, or to wardec endlessly that mission corp who they dont want nearby, is frankly living in a dream world. Get over it, the game has moved on.

For example, the changes to ships over the past year or so, which saw HP & damage potential increase, meant that even mining vessels had to have some changes to balance them against their traditional foe. Its not like you cannot gank these ships any more, you just need an extra body or two, socialise more!

Overall I am for positive changes to null sec that make it much more lived in, as well as enticing people to move out there - be it for pvp, pve or to build an empire - just not at the expense of decimating high sec and its population. I am also against further changes to high sec that seek to either make it safer, or make it a much harder place to live. We, the players, accepted all the little changes made to high sec over the years, we cannot now start to wail and moan as it has become too safe, what we can do is say "this is enough" and hope that CCP listen.

We do though have to remember that no one play style in this game is superior to another, and that what counts is if the player themselves is having a good time and getting what they want from their time here, after all happy subscribers will keep forking over money, resulting in a product with continuing development.
