Third generation native son.
I may live in Delaware, but California is home. Well, a bit of time in Colorado, too - But California is still my homeland.

I like Marin - I really do. But it belongs to the North Bay enclave - SanFran, Marin, Vallejo, Berkley/Oakland, maybe Concord.

Fairfield/Suisun are substantially different from Vallejo, for instance. Or, at least it was so when last I was home.

Tell someone you love them today, because life is short. But scream it at them in Esperanto, because life is also terrifying and confusing.

These are considered East Bay....and when coming to The City, they are called the Bridge and Tunnel Crowd.

They are the ones who got "Halloween in the Castro" cancelled forever by shooting guns at the event 2 years in a row. 9 people injured in 2009 if I recall.

Whatever. I'm a SoCal boy at heart (and by birth). Anyway you slice 'em, you get to keep 'em when California is broken into its natural divisions. P

Though I will say, poppin' caps in somone else's party is pretty frikkin' rude. Halloween in the Castro was never my party, but crappin' on someone else's fun because you can't control yourselves? Well - you see why *I* don't want 'em! Evil

Yup.

Of course as a tourist town, The City has its share of pickpockets and all that, but almost all major crime comes from outside.

How does other countries look at Norway
Having now spendt 3 years in US it was..interesting to watch even tho i still find it odd how other countries react on things that i take for granted.

All the Scandanavian countries are amazing.

We spent a few days in Denmark when I was 9 years old. It was late in May, and I was fascinated with the sun actually being up at 4 AM !

(Got to spend my 10th birthday in June with grandmother in Berlin).

What the actual f...? Dude, I want whatever you are smoking. I am Swedish and I don't care for Sweden or any other of the Scandinavian countries much. I outright dislike the Swedish hypocrisy (puts American hypocrisy to shame) when it comes to anything and everything and I hate Swedes for being so ******* meek and politically correct.

Believe me, we all have "the grass is greener" over there syndrome from wherever we live.

Hmmm... Not so impressed, entirely. I work for a multi-national which although HQ'd in the UK, is mostly owned in Sweden. I like the Swedes, but working with them? Urk. Some are great, many are... Passive. And don't get me started on trying to get any collaborative work done during the summer! I've litterally had to send courriers up into the hills to get a document signed - and the signatory is the one who set the schedule! ShockedEvil

As a latinamerican with vast cultural differences even within my own region, I found this interesting to read.

Currently about to read the final paper ... Food for thought

So diverse yet we stupidly try to run it all from one city, and let everybody vote to impose their diverse wills upon each other.

It will all come apart hilariously, violently, and unfortunately not fast enough.
