Most of you have probably noticed your ships are staying intact more regularly while flying in Black RIse -

The reason you still have intact ships is because Super Chair is having a break from eve.

Will the Chair return?? Is he the spy in your corp that you just gave roles to? Why does pepper taste so good on corn?
No one knows.

Caldari State Capturing's very, very, very sexy new alliance boss is a complete tool who spends way too much time playing Dust.
Big smile

Shameless off topic recruitment plug goes next:

To all CURRENT Caldari FW corp CEO's - Caldari State Capturing [PLEX] is ready to rebuild.
*Help us create a blob so we can know what it's like to be a Gallente while still being in Caldari.

What we can offer:
We have the best alliance ticker in FW. (Undeniable fact)
Sean Parisi will provide his special 'naked services' to all male pilots.
No cta's - No fees - No Llamas.
Just more people to fly with when you want to shoot dirty, filthy, smelly, ugly dreadlocked lice breeding Gallente scum.
Not a traditional alliance - more about consolidating forces and having people around to form up with.
Ship replacement program - lolol yeah right fuk off and stop losing ****.

*Disclaimer - any blob we create will be after an hour of stuffing around after already sighting the enemy fleet to ensure we have 3x the numbers of at least one ship size above the enemy fleet. You must then accuse the smaller and outnumbered force of blobbing.

I have 7 pilots that I can add to your alliance by way of AR16. Sometimes 8, but sometimes AR16 is empty as I am out in one of the other militias causing trouble for them from within their own ranks. Contact me about alliance invite.

All that is, is proof of how broken OGB really is.

For the record, I do have a link alt, but I make a point of only using him when seriously outnumbered. For example, those heron kills were all unlinked, but forgive me if I felt the need to use tOGB against 6x cormorants :P

There are a lot of huge names in FW and I couldn't begin to name them all.

Chatgris and Nexxala would be pretty big ones on the list, AshenShugar and Loren are plain legends.

There are also hundeds of pilots around lowsec to accomplish some amazing feats that are never heard about. Jack Fraust for example constantly comes up with AF or dessie kills, all in his merlin without any form of links and I'm still shocked every time he gets one.

Oh and last but not least, pa3ot and J1m Raynor, for taking my terrible 10mn AFs and creating the goddly 10mn destroyers you see today.

i have been doing a lot of fighting in lowsec, came back in the past month or so, and been doing some flying with quake from time to time.
i can safely say that the links almost exclusivly gets used in either fights where he/we are heavily outnumberd, OR when fighting severely outgunned :)

also i nominate quake590 as one of the most dangerous pilots arround, and as stated befor there is loads and loads of good pilots outthere, keep it up, you guys rock!<3

I can also say that Captain Sparro gets extremely angry when Quake takes him into outnumbered fights that he has no idea how to fly in. And it is funny to read his rants about it in local.

Can anyone of the top pilots maybe tell me how you do that with brawling fits?
Since I try short range pvp this month I suck like hell. How to avoid getting always damn blobbed within the next 10seconds???
Example: soloing a vexor in hook->sfi and rifter blob me.
soloing a wolf in a hook---> slasher comes and they blob me....

SO HOW THE HELL YOU MANAGE THAT?

Most fights are won before the first shot ever gets fired when you calculate the enemies approximate abilities in your mind. Aside from OGB, it's mainly just managing spreadsheets in your mind like this (one incursus fled btw).

If math does not match, then "top pilots" simply dont take the fight. Some uncertainties do enter the calculations based on whether or not pilot is as skilled or risk averse as you expect but those are generally factored in as probabilities too.

This.

Generally I think a thorough understanding of standard fits and the strength / weaknesses of different hulls is needed to succeed in PvP. For example majority of Incursus will be blaster fit, as long as you can dictate range outside of his optimal and have enough DPS to deal with a possible dual rep - then you choose to engage.

Or you can do what I do and leeroy into everything you see. (Sometimes this actually works more then you'd think. It is that moment where you know your going to lose, but actually end up wiping out 3x as many guys)

I agree with the above.

I lose fights because I just wade in and don't weigh the odds. Usually because I have the red mist of 'MUST FIGHT'. I rarely lose my ship if I'm on the ball and actually have thought about what's ahead.

In EVE the set up is the win, even the most terrible of us (like me :D) can tell if there is going to be a win or loss before you engage. My last Hawk loss for example was one where I knew that if the 2 harpy's that killed me were on warp in I'd just DIAF. I was hoping that one would be a rail harpy.

I was wrong, and I lost my ship. I knew that would happen but was playing the odds and lost.

Solution is probably again: Back to kiting :D
So I can get out when blobbed :P

Not necessarily but with brawling frigates tyou either need to be a "boxer" or "ju-jujutsu". What this essentially means that boxer (like Incursus) simply absords punishment while taking the enemy down in do-or-die fight. Ju-jutsu is something like ewar hookbill who can use it to negate incoming damage while taking down opponents one at the time.

And as for kiting frigates, most people who say kiting requires massive skills are the ones who use OGB to kite some poor bastard in their sml condors in 100% safety.

Solution is OGB. Don't let these '1337' PeeVeePeesters tell you otherwise. Here is how I do the math. Next time you are in a high activity system, fly from end to end scanning for T3. Now you divide he number of people in system by the number of T3 that appeared on scan. If there are stations in system then you dock an alt in that station and see who and how many are docked. Then you pull out your trusty Buzzard and throw 8 sister's combat probes into space and watch as the number of T3 in space diminish and activity for said system falls like a brick off a cliff into station games and 6 to 1 ganks.

Use plexes to your advantage and remember people cannot warp to you inside the plex or outside the plex. That often gives you time to kill the "bait" or initial tackle before the blob can get to you. In other words, don't fight in places where you are tackled at short range and you can be directly warped to.

Also, what Damar said. For all his ranting, he's actually a darn good pilot.

Good Sirs;

In my little part of the world, solo novice plexing around sisiede, Rude X is the best. He has a fast hookbill that can scramble you at great range. He is almost always logged in (if you don't play alot you don't count no matter how good you are). I would put Zarnak up there too, but he isn't on as much. PeeVeePeeSkee is persistent, but he doesn't smack-talk and brag so nobody cares. Amar Phong is pretty good with his pirate gang, but I haven't seen much of them lately. There are some very good pirate gangs that pass through the area, but since they aren't in FW officially they don't count. I guess Die 4me gets an A for patience.

I only solo-farm LP and I don't try to fight and I have never met an FC. I just warp away when I can, so my assessment is from a very limited point of view.

your humble servent

I fully agree with this. I remember a fight a couple days ago where our side was in three atrons and the other side had a dramiel, condor, and two thrashers already set up in a small plex. Did we take the fight? Yes we did because we failed to do the mental calculation Yuri talks about, and it cost us big time.

Our side entered the plex and got only two kills for one significant loss on our side in the initial battle:
Killed their dramiel.
(Yes, the loot fairies punished us for not following Yuri's advice)
And their Condor.
We lost an atron. I don't think we'll ever recover from this loss (same fit as the next loss below).

Then our lost pilot shipped up to a dessie, and returned.
We killed their first thrasher.
Then their second., and
his pod. However,
We suffered another costly loss.

After Action Report:
What did our side do wrong? How could we have lost so much against the other side?
1. We didn't do the mental calculation that, according to Yuri, most elite pvp'ers do.
2. Our ships were "poorly fit". (Our Goonswarm Tech Moon overlords are angry at us right now).
3. We were the ones who rushed the plex against a well-entrenched enemy.
4. We didn't have boosts. The horror.

Of course, we're not the "top pilots" so we're not having any fun, and our kb looks like sh**.

Petrus Blackshell is without a doubt the most skilled pilot in the game. I once saw him kill a 30-man AHAC fleet in his t1-fit rifter. I was watching the battle cloaked 200km away in a covops ship, but after he was done with them he still burned right at me, caught me before I could get out, and podded me. He is single-handedly winning the war for the Minmatar. That time when Amarr hit t4 was the week he went on vacation.

Oh my god, this. His reputation is unmatched. Entire fleets dock up when he enters local. He just can't be stopped. He once took on a PL supercapital fleet in his arty jag and killed 3 SCs and forced the rest to leave. He would've killed them but he was permajammed by a support fleet of Falcons. The only reason CCP keeps ECM in the game is because Petrus Blackshell would be unstoppable without it.

You seem to be describing the Chuck Norris and it is common knowledge that Chuck Norris is Loren Gallen's alt..
