Does anyone really play Eve with just 1 character and no alts.

I only have one acct, main because I'm poor , and can't afford another char, let alone the isk to buy one. Please feel free to contact me another char if you have you you don't need, and or send a few billion isk to halp a bro on his way.

they for fun just a couple hours every other day on and off, belong to active pvp corp, and log for the kills and laughs, thats it
they use plexs to get isks

I have alts but I don't really use them much. One of my alts is decently-skilled (though nothing like myself), and the other (only 1 at current) has less than a day of training. I am not a high-bear, I like to explore all parts of EVE. I think there is quite an adventure to putting all my effort into one character. This character is an extension of me. This is ME in New Eden. When I gain a reputation, it follows me around. That stuff makes EVE far more real and visceral to me. I can't imagine why so few choose to follow my example, and I really suggest that you do. I'm nearing my third year and I am more convinced than ever that sticking with just my first toon is the best option and the most rewarding in terms of overall game experience.

Single account running for 6/7 years now. My 2 alt spots are filled with noobs who cant do **** for giggles if i wanted to.
been around all of EvE so yeah, it makes playing the game alot easier...too easy really. Why play with others in this mmo when you can have your army of alts to do everything with right? At least it makes ccp soms money before the alts generate enough isk to play on plex right? Then again, those plexes have to get bought anyway.

YES!!!! alts are horrible and should not exist outside of market/trade/scout type roles. i dont use alts for anything other than that. ruins da game!

Just curious, how does it ruin the game? I mean, how does my using alts ruin YOUR game? If anything it's more money for CCP, which benefits alt users and single players alike.

I made my first alt about a month after I created this one. I was focusing on BS training so I could run level 4s and had no time to train small ships for PvP so I made an alt for PvP instead. I also have a third account but I don't know why.

Oh god.

And yes, the game's mechanics are obviously designed to really push people towards alt accounts (more money). It can be argued that the original design idea was to play along with other people, but EVE's tiny population spread all over an unnecessarily large (but empty) game space, makes it difficult at times, so an alt account is just readily available and oftentimes more reliable.

Why just 1 account? Just on general principle. I've never paid for more than one sub concurrently. Never have, never will. Especially not when it's for the same bloody game. Sorry, I refuse to pay more for flawed design.

2. Get some friends, there are enough people around and if you make an effort to hide your autism you might make some friends
3. The one and only mechanic that "pushes" you towards an alt is cynos and the game would be allot more broken with people jumping around everywhere
4. Dont confuse principles with being poor

Been playing this toon for 9 years now. Without an alt. Ive always been in corps who have haulers willing to move stuff for you / cyno pilots in corps etc

In fact ive only just made a couple of toons on this same account and am training them up to do some PI for extra iskies Smile

I have yet to meet anyone who does so on purpose. Usually it is either they can't afford more than one account, or they are so new they haven't thought about it yet.

I have 1 alt. I used it for 2 purposes: Orca hauling when I lived in w-space solo, and now station trading because I don't use it.

I live in lowsec. I do it without alts. Only reason the alt is still subbed is I found out I really like trading. So yeah, you can do just fine in eve with no alts if you're not an idiot.

It is, however, more fun to have alt. ;)

Edit: Seriously, my alt has only been subbed for I think 8 months out of the last 4 years. You don't need alts. But they do increase your fun amount if you have a second screen, cause you can trade or whatever during downtime on your main.

12 accounts here with a 2.5 pilots/account average. I might do with just 6 accounts but that's the limit for me.

The main has about 55m SP and lives on the outer edge of the null map, flies every race to BS, bombers, dics, assfrigs, ceptors, hacs all that good stuff.
Another toon in the same corp just doubles the PI numbers and has about 3m SP in industry.
This guy has 100k SP and poasts here, steals ore in hisec, scouts null and generally gets burnt for laughs.

I have a Jita alt and an alt I use for just flying around whenever and wherever. They are both 55k sp and I use no alternate account.
