So I check the SOV map today and I see Convicted's space has been split between GSF and GENTS.

Can someone explain to me how this works because (lol), there's no fighting in Null, so what is it, do these Alliances buy space from each other or something? How does Convicted lose all of its space in one day?

I notice this a lot when looking at the influence map. Like entire regions will be given to one Alliance in one day, and, again, no one fights in the big blue doughnut, so how does this get done?

Is this about Tech or something (I don't know much about how Tech works)?

How does all of this space get thrown around this way in such a short amount of time?

I thought Convicted get kicked out of CFC. Are they still buddies?

Sure wish I could be asking about fights in null, but alas the most exciting thing about null is the influence map.

Please don't bother linking some random kills by gate campers (WUT U TALKIN BOOT? WE FITEZ IN NULL ALOTZ, SEE!), that's not what I'm talking about.

Think about that fight that happened with PL and GSF a few weeks ago. You know it's sad when a fleet battle is top story news.

I thought the remains of Li3 were going to that space.

Edit, ah well, they will have more room to install other CFC members.

This seems like a troll (and a pretty bad one), but...

Sov is actually held by corporations. It's a simple matter of transferring sov to corporation A in alliance A, then having corporation A join alliance B. There are sov transfer corps that are created for this express purpose.

Here's an example of a sov transfer corp:

How is Convicted giving it's space to GSF "SOV Grinding"?

I mean correct me if I'm wrong, but how could you do that in one day?

If you think it's a troll then GTFO of the thread dude.

I'm asking a serious question because I want to know.

I do not understand how an entire Alliance loses it's space like that.

I do not mean the mechanics, which is what YOU explained. I understand how to actually do it.

My question is WHY it happens. Do alliances buy the space or what b/c I see this often.

Are you basically saying that Convicted has joined GSF?

They got that space because they were part of the CFC, they were kicked out, so the Sov had to be returned.

Quite simply put, cordial arrangements were made well ahead of time for C0NVICTED's space to be transferred within the CFC.

This agreement involved executors within both C0NVCITED and the CFC.

Then one day, they went ahead as planned and did sov transfers.

Oh.

Makes sense.

Makes my outlook on Null sec even bleaker seeing as how there's "landlord's" and crap but, makes sense.

Makes sense, thank you for the clarification.

In the future, please stop assuming that simply because a question seems dumb to YOU, that the noob is supposed to be a troll of some sort.

You vets trip me out man...you say noobs should ask questions then when we do you call us trolls...then when we do dumb **** out of ignorance you jump on us for not asking questions, but when we ask questions you call us trolls, but when we don't ask questions you call us idiots for not asking questions and...

You mean that thing that's existed in roughly the same form since the days of BOB (and even before)?

There are actually fewer identifiable pets now than there were in the past (Hint: Not all coalitions have a Master:Pet dynamic).

I've been playing for like, 4 months dude.

I barely even know who the hell BOB is.

From what I see, the Master/Pet dynamic is very much alive and well in nullsec. That's why it sucks so much. People are scared to fight for fear of disrupting daddy's isk hoarding operation.

That and "oh I can't have a mind of my own. I'm a new Alliance and I have to join a blue blob coalition to survive and a better play ball or my space will be taken away".

It's garbage.

Eve is probably the only game where a significant proportion of subs are from people paying to be able to complain about how much they hate Eve.

If you're 4 months old, you shouldn't be making comments on subjects you very obviously don't understand, nor formulating opinions based on what you hear on the forums and highsec rather than firsthand experience.

Returning space is not a big deal. It is politics. They had two options, return CFC space to another CFC entity, or burn bridges, lose it in a sightly longer period of time, and make a very powerful enemy. They intelligently returned the space.

When coalitions invade regions, it isn't one alliance doing the work. It is every member group. Space is generally split between alliances that did very well or don't have a "home" yet, but the space was conquered by every member of the coalition.

When a group leaves a coalition and returns their space to it, they're simply giving it to another entity that bled just as much for it as they did.

I don't hate EVE at all. No more than I hate America.

I simply hate the direction it's going in.

Concern implies an attachment.

If I didn't complain and show concern and instead simply unsubbed and walked away, then you'd know I hated EVE.
