[Gradient] An end of an era

This is to confirm that on this date, Gradient CEOship will be transferred by pre-established emergency procedure to XO Challis Drant (Brutor).

To the disappointment of most the readers, despite that rather exciting phrasing of it, I am not dead. I am not even in any sort of personal danger other than the same old that my security has years of experience dealing with. The reasons for my removing myself from the office are entirely personal and of the nature that makes them none of your business.

The reasons do not contain anything that should imply a change in course for Gradient. All commitments made by me for the corporation have been recorded and will be honored. Policies are not about to change. Challis Drant has worked with me for a long time and despite us not sharing tribal blood our hearts follow the same beat when it comes to loyalty and integrity.

You've been a steady hand on the tiller, Rhiannon. Whatever your reasons for stepping down may be, I hope they are positive ones and if not, I hope your troubles are soon behind you.

I think I speak for all of ReAw when I congratulate Challis Drant on his promotion. If his corporate leadership turns out to be even half the quality of his combat record, then Gradient has good times ahead under his leadership.

I know a guy who knows a guy. Does the best. voiceovers. ever.
Let me know next time you're doing that "overly dramatic thread title" thing, I'll give him a call.

It'll be downright epic, I assure you.

On the actual topic, have a good retirement party. I know a guy who knows a guy if you need "entertainment".

The end of your leadership will be a loss to Gradient, but I have no doubt that Mssr. Drant's leadership will be a gain. Gradient's never yet had a problem choosing good leaders.

Yeah, yeah! I know that guy! It's always something like: "In a world of [tragic circumstance], one [protagonist] fights alone. Until now..."

Thank you for your service Elsebeth. You have done your Tribe and clan proud with your service. And good luck Drant.

It is with some small amount of trepidation that I assume Leadership over Gradient. After all I do believe this is the 12th or 13th oldest existing capsuleer corporation still in existence.

My succession to the leadership of Gradient will not alter our policies or reason for existence. I can confidently assure all those in the Republic that we will serve the Republic as we have served before, and will continue to do so in the future.

I am terribly sorry if that disappoints those who still hold our brothers and sisters in bondage, or those that support them, but rest assured we will as we have done in the past, spare no effort to bring them back into the fold of freedom.

As far as Gradient and Electus Matari are concerned it is business as usual. Elsebeth’s wisdom will be missed at the highest levels, but she will still be around, and she may be even a little bit more outspoken than before – I pity the fools who get in her way.

Thank you for your leadership to Gradient Elsebeth. I look forward to seeing you in space continuing the fight.

This is a bit sad if you ask me. With leadership change should come at least a slight change of direction. Elsebeth knows I like her and she was a huge improvement over that tool who I erm, eh, was a tool so many moons ago, but I think a slight change in direction would be awesome for EM. A bit less politics, a bit more shoot first question later would probably go a long way in helping the cause. Yea yea, who am I to speak on these matters, I haven't done anything in space forever, I get it...

Although our Tribe and EM do not work together much anymore I just want to say thank you to you Elsebeth for all your work for the Republic and our people.

This, pretty much.

I wish your successor much luck in his new position. Big sandals to fill, as it was, but I am confident he will prove most able.

For you yourself Riannon, keep doing that nasty thing you do - make the right people love and respect you, and the wrong ones hate their impotence and inability to stop you or Gradient from doing anything you please, whenever you want.

The only good thing about this is that i can probably get away with some stuff that Elsebeth would pounce on immediately Big smile Until Challis becomes wise to it, i do hope she hasn't filled him in ..

Not exactly the most prudent thing to go about announcing it if you were planning on getting away with it, eh?

To Gradient: Your consistent action and work for the Minmatar as a people and as a Republic is worthy of respect and honor, even from your enemies. Should the day come when we meet across the battlefield, it shall be my honor to test my mettle against yours. Your leadership has proven wise and potent in the past, I suspect it will not be any less so now.

I haven't had the occasion to know you, captain Rhiannon, but tales of your deeds travel into the Empire and I have heard the stories. And, if half of them are true, it seems like the Republic will lose a pilot that has done much for it. We may probably not agree on many things, yet I honor those that give their best to fulfill their duty, and that you have clearly done.

As for captain, Drant, I wish you luck in filling the big shoes you have been given, it will certainly prove a challenge. One that will probably bring us to opposing lines of the battlefield, be it one of words or cannons. So, I'm sorry if I won't be able to help you fill those shoes, but I do hope you will live up to what I've heard of you and prove a wise and strong opponent.

Congratulations on retirement, Elsebeth, and my condolences to Challis...

I kid, of course. GRD is a well oiled machine by all accounts, and so while I don't envy any chief executive tasked with maintaining that reputation, I have every bit of confidence that Challis will serve well.
