I feel reborn!

Loss is meaningful. Therefore is the loss of meaning likewise meaningful. It is the source of all trolling.

Welcome to EVE, where life is harsh, and death very temporary - you can't escape life that easily! Lol

Suggestion (one that I have employed): Get into a n00bship, and fly out into redspace. You will die. A LOT. But you will risk little (n00bships are free!) Keep doing it until you no longer get that sick feeling when you wake up in a station with a nice note from your insurance company.

Once you get over your fear of being podded, a whole vista of possibilities lies open before you. Enjoy! Cool

The first ever death I had on my first character I was jumped on by 3 people in low sec but managed to take someone down with me so it felt good.

Don't fly things you can't afford to replace. Always get platinum insurance. Personally, I tend to think of my ships as already dead as soon as I buy them. I see them more like rental cars.

Dunno about being experienced, but I feel... nothing as such. It just happens in games, and in EVE it just means I have to remember to upgrade my clone and check if I am good for ships and equipment. Oh, and learn from the death so that next time the death is just not a repeat from previous one.

I go to ISK Heaven, frolick with the pleasure slaves I was promised, and then receive enlightenment on how to make my next few billion. And the minty after-taste in the mouth as a new clone is not to be missed. Blink

I remember my first death like it was yesterday (it wasn't). I just joined my first corp and had to move regions. So I put everything of value I owned into my trusty Tormentor and followed the autopilot down to Minmatar space.

Alas, avoiding lowsec wasn't automatically ticked and me being a newb had no idea what it meant. But I was quickly to find out. As soon as I jumped into lowsec, a group of people awaited me, exploded my ship (with everything I owned) and had my capsule popped before I could spell out WTF.

That day I learned that dying is part of EVE and so is losing everything you have. It was a shock at first and I was depressed for a bit, but as I earned everything back and learned how to avoid dying, I began to cherish the threat of death as a refreshing challenge.

And since then I managed to avoid damage, at least when I wasn't throwing myself into combat. I was mining in 0.0 and lowsec, managed PI in lowsec and found that both preparation with bookmarks, estimation through star map statistics and above all, the right choice of ship keeps you alive.

Always remember: The best tank for a non-combatant is being elsewhere.

My first thought after losing a ship is: "That kind of sucked." My second thought is, "Yep, that sucked a lot." Then my 3rd thought is, "Time for a sandwich."

Why?

Because you thought that you had to buy the most expensive thing you could find on the market and can't afford to replace it, or are you emotionaly attached to "things" in a game?

Personally speaking, the "That kind of sucks" part comes from the fact that the ship I lost is gone and will need to be replaced. It's not an attachment to the in game things, but rather the real time and/or effort put forth to get them that will now need to be repeated to fully recover (just because I can replace a ship doesn't mean I like to let that hole sit indefinitely in my wallet).
