I have heard recently that scraping the cashe is a bannable offence. Although you could just make a new free account with Dust, think of all the lost time you would have from having your account banned. Shocked

While the OP is a complete moron, other people actually do have a point.

Dust, CURRENTLY, as far as the feel of the controls go, is a rather poor FPS.

CoD isn't a huge success because infinity ward makes better games then everyone else, it's because infinity ward got the "feel" of the controls damn near as perfect as you can get on a console.

If it was a PC game it would be fine, but it's not. Not even a mouse and keyboard helps, I actually thought it was worse then the controller.


As far as aiming and shooting stuff, Dust really is the worst FPS I've ever played, on any system.
If they don't improve on this area of the game, being F2P won't help.

DC universe online was a dismal failure on the PC, because of the controlls. It did really well on the PS3 though, because the controlls are really well done.

This is honestly the one thing that worries me with the game, because it hasn't improved any in the few months I've been able to play it. It's as ****** today to control as it was 3 months ago. If this games controlls are this way when it officially goes "gold", I expect it to do very poorly.

People will play anything that's free, but they aren't going to spend money in the shop if the controlls are crap. I'm not going to waste money when I feel like I"m dying for no ******* reason and unable to kill some guy standing in front of me, after I unloaded an entire assault rifle clip into him, and hit him maybe 3 times.

I know it's not me, because Dust is the only FPS that I'm complete **** at, and damn near every person I've talked to has said the same thing. "How come I can play any other FPS and do fine, even if I"m not that good, but I play dust and I can't hit anything?"

Because the control is ******* garbage.

And CCP doesn't seem to be listening to us, no matter how we say it, or how often.

FIX THIS ****, SHOOTING STUFF SUCKS IN DUST.
Make the devs play CoD or BF3, ****, make them play MAG even, and then tell them to do whatever the hell those devs did to make shooting at stuff work as well in dust. If they can't figure it out, call someone from one of those companies and ask them what the hell they did.

I want to play this game, and I can't bring myself to do it when I've got 3 CoD games, BF3, MAG, and a slew of PC shooters I can play that are more enjoyable because I don't spend the entire time screaming at my ******* television in frustration.

Yes. I think that every merc should be told exactly what system and station they are in when they come into the game. It will make it so much easier to supply gear when they allow us to trade.

Yes. While I can currently play it with KB/M I hate sitting on my chair using my ottoman as a mouse pad. I want to sit back on my recliner and play a console shooter with my controller. Yet there is no southpaw control scheme.

Also, where exactly are the servers for this game at? Because I have a feeling that some of the problems with this game are host related. There have been a few times where I have ducked behind cover as my shields go down, only to have all my armor eaten away even though I am out of sight of any enemies.

Forum failures take note! It is quite possible to express the above opinions without frothing at the mouth, sounding completely biased and failing elementary-level grammar.

If Goonswarm can do it, you can too!

(Personally I use mouse and keyboard - can't stand shooters with console controllers - and don't have many issues with it.)

CCP realized that the sheer complexity of EvE was alienating a significant part of the gaming market demographic (read: twitchy 13 year olds who go into neurological shock if they go more than fifteen seconds without saying "***") and actually managed to find a way to solve this marketing oversight without completely dumbing down EvE to WoW levels.

So kudos to them for verily this was most brilliant.

Thats the real tragedy.

90% of all the stuff that is taking months or years to roll out, old things that badly needed iteration.
Why don't we have Tech3 Frigates - or even the 5th subsystem the promised? Dust.
Why are they already lowering expectations on POS revamp? Dust.
Rebalancing ships takes 2 years? Yep. Dust.

so many manhours wasted on the crack pipe.
