so now you are saying the hurricane was the only ship people ever flew in game? ok.....

and you think that all cars on earth should have very similar performance specifications in order to create diversity?

why do some people then buy an audi and others a vw with 50 Bhp less?

more diversity means things are more different.

The Hurricane and drake were by far the most popular two battlecrusiers,

and all cars in the same class do have similar performance

diversity means having a choice, under the old system the only choice was the hurricane or drake, there was little diversity !

on the bright side, at least the list of viable battlecruisers isn't as empty as it used to be.

yes you are right and the list of outstanding ships has lessend a little... yet so is life.

by outstanding, you mean ships that really weren't balanced in any way shape or form? (that's rhetorical, by the way).

hmmmmmmmmmm diversity actually if u look it up in a dictionary does in NO way mean having a choice.

now because i know how eve forum trolls work this almost useless sentence for the eve forum community: No im not against having a choice -.-

'The Hurricane and drake were by far the most popular two battlecrusiers,' i agree with you on this.

'and all cars in the same class do have similar performance' this is true to some extent but only i would say to 70% there are cars in the same class and price range that stand out drasticly. There is for example a Nissan skyline for about 80k us that has as much horespower and tourque as a lamborghini murcielago.

except for the OP, who's going to eternally mourn their i-win ship since it's now properly balanced and they might have to learn to pvp properly without relying on a ship that wasn't balanced.

some times yes and sometimes no... but they have different models of cars and those that are listed in the same class can have far different specs

What's the point in diversity if some things are just objectively better than others? If something is just good in every situation the others will just be relegated and you have no diversity. Either that or you have an imagined diversity where people who don't know any better are piloting the worse ships and are at a major disadvantage. There are plenty of differences between the BC's now which will alter ingame situations.

It's still good in comparison to other BC but it just has less of that 'universal utility' that made it so much better.

I agree with you 100%

My only issue is I dont like ccp 'constantly' intervening with 'working' things because they kind of made eve what it was..... in a way if they want to be sincere in an artistic way then they have to respect an environments flaws as well as its strengths. This would need to be done in order to give eve credibility as a fictional but artisticly and immersively seen real world or universe. (in order to enjoy lord of the rings or alien, u have to believe its real for the duration of the film.

real world places also are not always perfectly balanced.

i agree this intervention makes sense yet it kinda makes eve a little less eve and a little more space simulation.

and i am sort of paying to play eve.... i mean.... it began as a place with hardly any rules... *small tear*

The point of diversity? to me it creates a greater sense of interest and variation.
