Something epic and equally time consuming no doubt, like having lunch. Smile

This lines in space thing really sounds like a dev going "You know what would be cool..." then going and coding it, showing it off, and getting it put in the game. And I really, really like that. It's just added flavor.

It's legitimate to want devs to work on super serious things all the time, but honestly, I can't imagine that sort of approach would inspire much personal investment in the game.

Why would someone want to turn them off? They don't cause a performance drain or anything.

i figured it out. I just don't care for it. For me, it takes away from the authenticity of looking out into space.

ITT: Bittervets jealous that they didn't have these features earlier, so they try to discount it as absolutely useless

According to the dev post earlier in this thread it did not take long to put together.

i guess you have never looked at guns on your ship too? they (3D models) are useless too Lol

I have, but one needs to zoom in very close to actually notice them. I am then always surprised when I read in the patch notes about some weapon not sitting right or intersecting with a ship's hull. This must be really important to some. The 3D models in the info to the guns are also pretty and yet useless. When was the last time you have looked at those?

i look at them every time i run some mission.
because they are cool

What I do like and find useful are the engine trails, because they give me information about where a ship is, into which direction it is moving and how fast.

stop being pvper and evading most of the game Lol

I wish they would do things that are useful rather than interesting. With the effort it takes to assign stars on each wallpaper for every system in Eve, one must wonder how much dev time went into this...Ugh

I questioned this as well.

The dev responsible respoonded that he did it in his off time.

While it doesn't do anything for me, as I agree with those that find it useless, I have no problem with a dev doing stuff like this on their own time.

I do find it impressive the things that some people will get excited about.

Anything you got excited about in the past decade, someone in this world would question your sanity for doing so.

Not everyone likes the things you like.
