Noticed today: sell orders for some items aren't much higher that buy orders. sometime difference is almost none.

Just one example: Dual Heavy Modal Pulse Laser 1: lowest sell 152990, higher buy 150185.

What could it show? Jusr curious

Market PVP, if I want a new guy to go away, I quiqly remove profits and devise a plan for this person to lose ISK on the item.

also watch out for buy orders with minimum quantity, like having to turn in 6-8 of the item at a time (artificial buy order that will fail if you try to fill it)

1.867% difference only small but with the right skills and standing thats still a "profit" and if the seller was buying region wide or unloading a stockpile bought sometime when they were <150000k then the profits are bigger.

Other than that Kara said.

also:

I sell to the highest buy order. I've been foolish and left it on 'advanced' settings, with a duration. I am trying to sell more than the order will take.

I end up filling the buy order, then putting up the rest for sale at that price, with a sell order.

Woo! CSM XI!

There is at least one more reason, someone wants a big stockpile rather quick at a low price. The best method is to kill the margin with several big block sell orders until you are closing in the buy orders. When you have a sufficent stockpile you move your block orders and buy out the market, waiting for the buy orders to rise. Profit.

If they are used for invention (T2 manufacturing), people will buy them to make a T2 variant. Price of T1 item becomes irrelevant as long as it's reasonable.
