A First for New Eden! Bet on the outcome of a Dust 514 Match! (THEN BOMB IT)

I'm currently hosting a Dust 514 tournament , which has entered the double elimination phase after an Open Round-Robin qualifier. The event is being sponsored by CCP and the community and includes both Eve and Dust 514 focused prizes.

The big development is that www.Eve-bet.com has taken up the mantel to be the first place to offer up betting from Eve on a Dust 514 sporting event. I hope that is will be a first among many and eventually we will have in-game tools and the use of the CREST system to make this even more prevalent. Betting is still open here. More matches for the tourney will become available as we get closer to the semifinals and finals in the tournament.

And one more thing. Eve-side orbitals are fair game, so you can bet on a team and then shoot the opposing one from orbit!

No need to spend money. If you are in faction warfare you can stop by the "Dust OB" channel and work out blowing up mercs that are in the tourney. The pilot with the most orbital kills will be getting a PLEX.

Good news! New brackets are up with a more transparent schedule. Expect betting to be opened up for more matches in the coming day.

Is there some kind of killmail for killing a dustie? That's why i haven't bothered with dust yet, no killmail, no point.

If not, how do you know who blew up the most dusties?

From what I understand matches all have to be recorded. Orbital kills show up in the kill feed, so someone could simply watch and count the number of kills. Ghetto way of doing it, but it can be done.

You don't receive and official kill mail, but blowing up Dusters gives you a nice combat log (one of the ways I verify kills). Here is an example:

I'm going to be setting up a community site at www.NewEdenSports.com to help arrange future tourney's like this in a more automated way. Several members of the community have also expressed a desire to set up an actual Dust 514 league.

Right now the domain is parked, but I need web designers, graphic artists, and web app developers that would like to help out to please contact me.

Update! This weekend's matches will be tied to a "Dust OB" event. The matches will take place in a designated system and will be announced in the "Dust OB" channel.
