I've posted a query in the W&T forum ( https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&m=173545 ) but it may be that the people who know the answer spend more time here.

If you're into scanning down ships, and have any idea at how close you need to get your probes to get a 100% fix on a mission-running frig (say 42m sig radius and 10 sensor strength) I'd love to learn more.

I guess I am almost a 'vet' by now. Hopefully not too bitter and managing to help more than I hinder. I build and sell many things, including large collections of bookmarks.

From the few mission running frigs I probed out (last I can remember was a harpy doing a lvl4) is you need to get your probes down to 0.5 pretty much. I have maxed skills and virtue clone but I don't think I had the virtues last time I probed out a frig doing a mission.

Thanks Jack. I just ran the experiment ... and then saw your reply.

My thoroughly scientific tests fit pretty well with your observations. Thanks very much.

My full write-up is on the other thread at: https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&m=175483#post175483
