A ship that will change eve

Hello

I see a lot of concerns with the way sov is, eve prices for things being extremly high and the concern about null sec or pvp itself getting stagnent. I have a idea that will solve all of the issues at hand.

Its simple create a moblie moon mining ship that hit point wise would be between a carrier and a sub cap, cannot really fit much on it but mods to tank etc and do its sole purpose (no drone bay).

The ship will be able to go into a deployable mode (in which it cant be repped but can be attacked in) for a peroid of time. The ship should not have a huge cargo bay but just enough to get enough moon minerals to be usable for building. Also the cycle has to be long enough....say 10 minutes per cycle....so that if found a fleet can warp in on it and kill it. Also the ship would need to be within 5000 m of a moon in order to seige and draw ore.

This ship will cause conflict, enable free trade, and most of all let the little guy get ahead in eve. The ship also has to be costly enough so if lost its not so easy to replace. Imagine the drama that will be created if a alliance member starts mining under their own alliances noses.....wont that break null sec up a bit. Please respond with your thoughts about this and if you need my consent to make this ship because it was my idea you have it.

I am open to critism of this idea so please post some

I like the idea of it. Those stealth moon miners would love that

I have a few ideas on it...

  • No moon miners in empire or pirate owned pirate space only SOV space. it would be too easy to stealth mine in none sov space... It'll be just another mining barge. give them a reason to scout their moons

  • Give it a covert jump drive so when u light a black ops beacon no one will know ur jumping in

anything I'm missing?

No cuts, no butts, no coconuts!

I do agree but make it a cap ship in the sense its a carrier or a dread and cant go into hi sec.....low sec should still be a viable option though......the key to the whole thing is that it cant out compete a tower mining system but it can make enough to be useful on a indivdual or small group level

Also when its deployed its stuck for a extended peroid of time so its going to need a fleet to defend it or it will die if scouted out

Or how about a module for the rorqual and orca so they can mine moons?

After centuries of debating and justifying... Break Cloaks tm

no it to adaptable for a ship like that to do what we are talking about. Also roquels have a drone bay....this ship should not be muliti platformed to be able to kill and mine it would be too good and you would not have engaugments to spice up the game. Its hit points should be the key to this ship staying alive long enough to get a responce for a defence or a attack and that should escalate into battles.

Pretty interesting idea. I can see how one would like it, although to implement it you'd have to remove the current 'ninja moon mining' of using cloaky haulers and small towers. Since, those would be more effective than this with the stuff you're implementing.

Though with the proposal of ring mining this may become irrelevant anyhow, so maybe just some form of mining barge dedicated to ring mining if that gets implemented?

Oh well. Interesting idea, with some tweaks it may work, but it won't make the new guys more competitive in null with the long run. Mostly because of attrition, most low/highsec people don't understand how to set up an advanced income system capable of fueling a war machine. Run such a system properly and you can match even the null alliance cartels in income by scaling it up and growing so on so forth. While it would make such things easier, large blocs can do it just as easily making it almost just as moot as the current moon mining systems.

With love,

Your favorite idiot.
