"Trader's Tool" would be an official CCP developed application, designed to run under Android, iOS and other mobile platform OSs, for mobile devices (smartphones & tablets) consisting in an interface with the market (and maybe Contracts) areea of Eve... depending on programming, implementing and linking opportunities it may grant access to watching / browsing market, modifying existing sell / buy orders or maybe even setting new orders if access to assets DB could be technically available...

this MAY be subject of an additional subscription fee or the application MAY have its own aquiring price in order to cover the development expenses....

The problem with this at the moment is that as CCP defines such program would be called a hook/bot and would be against EULA. However CCP's work on CREST API seems promising and will hopefully allow us to modify our market orders as well.

It is my understanding that, at this time, CCP have no intention of developing any APPs for EvE, (although interfaces for various non EvE activities have been mentioned for other platforms.)

That said, CREST is being developed with just this sort of thing in mind and 3rd parry developers will be able to work on this sort of APP and others.

I must ask though, why are you specifying an 'official' APP over 3rd party?

the APP i have in mind would gain too much access to Eve DBses (assets, market) so i dont have much hope CCP would alow that outside their control range (altho i may be wrong due to my limited knoledge about supposed interaction mechanics)

except the above note i really dont have any "specific" preference...

for this reason i've suggested the possibility for an "additionall subscription fee" - maybe if they look into this as a income they'd change their view about it...

You really should read the CREST portion of the CSM minutes...

Once CREST is released to the public, I'm sure this kind of thing will appear - with an appropriate monthly subscription fee of course, unless CCP decides to disallow people charging for access to CREST apps.

i've checked CSM's thread about crest and out of client but i still have BIG doubts CCP would agree with 3rd party software to gain access to game DBses...
again: i'm talking about an application that would alow legit user to directlly interact with market area DB and inventory DB aswell - some kind of interface designed not only for displaying but also for seting trade orders or contracts... for example, the opportunity to modify the price on my personall sell/buy orders...

Did you check the thread or the actual minutes which are in the initial post? I'm 90% sure something like this request is mentioned there.

it was indeed mentioned in the "out of client" section of the minutes... and the subject was also "toched" in several posts in the thread... but neither location shown any indication of a straight answer/atitude from ccp (or, at least, thats what i was able to understand)... in my book that means (at best) they havent decided or havent considered yet... one thing was stated loud and clear: ccp would not endorse / vouch for any 3rd party app... that raises the "trust in" problem: not sure how many players would entrust an uncertified app with their inventory / wallet (which is the main subject of my "trader tool" suggestion) without the possibility to petition... anyway, the main problem is a secure working tool itself, no matter the developer... a 3rd party app WITH some sort of ccp certification would be the solution - it would be easier (?) for ccp to check the code rather the write it...
