exefile process wont terminate

When I log into the game, often times it will continually check server status and not allow me to logon. When I quit the game to relaunch the exefile process hangs in RAM and wont terminate, even killing the process manually doesn't work. Eventually i end up with 3 or 4 instances of exefile stuck running in the background hogging up all my RAM

specs are
Operating System: Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit (6.1, Build 7600) (7600.win7_gdr.120830-0334)
Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7 CPU 920 @ 2.67GHz (8 CPUs), ~3.3GHz
Memory: 6144MB RAM
Available OS Memory: 6136MB RAM

DirectX Version: DirectX 11

Card name: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 460
Display Memory: 3790 MB
Dedicated Memory: 978 MB
Shared Memory: 2811 MB
Current Mode: 1920 x 1080 (32 bit) (60Hz)

all drivers are up to date.
