Can have a slice of these 9b ? Big smile

This game is fun once you understand that "being mean" is part of the package. All these evil griefers that attacked you are absolutely nice people. You're just not hardened enough (yet). Think of it as integrated roleplay.

New player spends $400 one month in? Sounds legit.

Quite amazing to see the mark check in on this.

Of all the things you learned, mark, you failed to mention fitting.

Please tell me you have now realised there are more modules to put on your ship that just weapons...

I figured that one out about half an hour in.

As for quitting...you have got to be trolling, because here's what I read:

"I spent $400 on this game and didn't win, wtf? Then I trusted a complete stranger, and HE BLEW UP MY SPACE MOBILE. I'm taking my toys and going home!"

There's simply no way anyone could be this stupid, I'm starting to believe every failbear post on these forums is actually a meta-troll.

That's Eve for you. It's not a game for everybody. On the other hand, you can do things you cannot do in other games and it can cause reactions you will never feel in other games - good or bad. Also, if you are leaving, I could use some of that isk!

Wow, buys $400 worth of plex for a game he has played once 5 years ago, comes in and shows he didn't learn anything the first time.. disregards all logic and common sense, blames it on the other players and rage quits? Seems Epic to me. Anyone get those tears?
I still think CCP should have a disclaimer on the page where you setup your account: This game is harsh, if you are not cautious bad things will happen. TRUST NO ONE. Train beyond just the skills needed to fly a ship before you do. Certificates are there for a reason. Hi-sec is not safe, lo-sec will get you killed and in Null there be dragons. You will lose your ship and your life, always update your clone. AND ABOVE ALL HAVE FUN, cause mostly everyone else who plays this game is. Fly safe.
That might save a few people some tears, or at least let them know that this is shark-infested water.

Always forgive your enemies; nothing annoys them so much.

I wouldn't give away that isk just yet;
The number of times I have had to walk away from my machine after getting blobbed or falling for the 2nd oldest trick in the book (the first being someone crawling behind you and his mate gives you a little push in the chest). But I know, all I need is a cold beer, because I remember all the great times I have had, and the better ones I will have.

Betrayal, I imagine, hurts a little more and may take a little longer to get over. But here's the key; you've learnt from it and it won't happen again.

Don't give up, we're all having a blast here and you will too - you were just naive and unlucky at the same time.

Frank, I'm sorry to hear that you had a bad experience. It looks like you placed your trust in those who unfortunately did not deserve it. I hope you don't give up on Eve for good, since you seem like a nice person and we need nice people in New Eden because community will either make or break this game. I'm a noob too, and I've already been blown up and podded a few times, basically getting caught out in space with my pants down. I rage a little and get over it, and treat each setback as a learning experience. The great thing about this game is that no setback is too big to come back from! Let's fly together some time, and maybe someday we can learn the skills to get back at those guys who thought they could squish noobs with impunity!

You spent $400 on a game you had rage quit from 5 years ago and were just starting again (with no clue about the game or how / if it had changed?) Shocked

Seriously?
Jebus Christ....!

Thats where you went wrong.... WTF does a new player need with that much ISK? At least play for a few months to learn the game and see if you are actually going to stick with it, instead of rage quiting after your space pixels get blown up in a hilarious fireball.

Please Please, when you look for a new game, dont spend RL $$$ on anything until you are sure you like it.
Maybe wait a few months before shelling out cash for those 'Kittie Dollars' Lol

30 plex?

you can buy like... like 50 rifters with that.

and officer fit them.

srsly, if you have that kind of money, buy 500 or so assorted frigates, fit them with tech one stuff, make a corp, fill it with newbies, and allow access to a corp hangar with 10 or so frigs at a time. (to avoid drama)

trust me, its like feeding pigeons, you will feel happy watching them go out and die, and eventually start to get kills.

Now if i may I would like to explain my side of this story.

1. Yes I am new to this game started January 1st 2013 :D Yay me!
2. I got all that money from selling plex's I bought the big 400 dollar pack (30 plex's) when i first started

OK so I met this guy who said he would teach me combat skills I agreed cause I am new and want to learn anyways he instructed me to disable my safety then form fleet with him I did that then he told me to attack him I said no because concord would attack me he then replied don't worry were in a fleet people can fight in a fleet so fire away. So skeptical of this now obvious bs i opened fire and guess what BOOM concord kicked my ass as thought lol.

Why not google it quickly or ask in newbie corp chat if you were suspicious?

Frank McKain wrote:
Now this is the first time I was in a red aggression timer so i did not understand what it meant I did know how ever that my Hyperion could be destroyed and I thought great this would be a great time to get rid of my 1,000,000 ISK bounty cause i heard that bounty's claimed are 20% of the destroyed ships value so losing a Hyperion would be more then enough to get rid of my bounty. So i got in the ship and undocked anyways like I thought I got destroyed perfect bounty's gone i said then to my surprise i got poded i was like WTF

This is why people say not to get ahead of yourself and fly things you're not ready for.

Frank McKain wrote:
anyways in rage I undocked several more times in my pod and same thing i got killed like 7 times after in anger i put 1 billion bounty's on buddy who killed me and 1 billion each on his corp and alliance.

Anyways here the aftermath and what I have learned

I lost -0.5 security status, lost 7 days of skill points, and lost about 5,000,000,000 ISK In bounty's placed and equipment lost.

Now what have I learned.

1. Don't trust anyone in game there always 99.99% of the time bsing you.
2. Do not exit station when in a red aggression timer.
3. Don't rage just quit game and come back when calm.
4. Always upgrade your clone.
5. Bounty's are useless just a way to waste valuable ISK.
6. This game is full of players who would rather poke fun and insult someone on multiple forum sites then take time and teach them how to play eve successfully.

Thanks for everything EVE community!

1: This should be 'do not trust complete strangers' and is just as true in real life as it is in Eve.
2: You actually can, just don't do it when there are people camping the station waiting for you.
3: Don't rage at all. If you felt the slightest twinge of emotion you should have been flying something cheaper and/or taking things less seriously.
4: Yes, always.
5: Not useless, just not a way to instantly kill someone, especially not in high sec. I wouldn't have spent a whole billion on it though.
6: The internet in general is like that. Some people are like that IRL. (I'm looking at you, Max, you bastard.) There are just as many cool people. It's just that the cool people aren't hunting you down to forcefully do nice things to you so they're less obvious.

Just learn from the experience and don't let it happen again. Find a good corp and make some friends to learn the game from. Most importantly, get a set of +5 implants and a cruiser and put the rest of that money up somewhere safe until you're ready for it. Either that or send it to me and I'll watch it for you. ;)

Frank McKain im going to give u some advice that i give my new members who just started in EVE,

This is not a instant gratification game, ISK doesnt make it any easier but it does help a little, dying is learning , what u need to do is learn to die in cheaper ships Big smile

I raged just as much as you did in 08 when some guy Ratkiller can flipped me and blew up my ship in poinen, few years later IT and kitchen sink attacking NC im in Razor alliance and bugger me Im repping his Apoc keeping him alive!! turns out he is a nice guy lol

I would recommend that if you do choose to leave, that you leave your ISK with a trusted 3rd party, where you have a good chance to get it back if you do decide to come back, or donate it to something like VAERT so that it ends up helping someone who needs it IRL.

IC where this is going you know I started playing eve in 2008 I played for 3 weeks and quit because people were mean I started again Jan 2013 thought maybe things would be different I was obviously very wrong anyways I am quitting this once and for all games are suppose to be fun not make you feel sick and sad. I still have 9 billion ISK if any one wants they can have no catch I'm done that's all. Anyways sorry for any inconveniences I may have caused you during my time here. Goodbye.

Just to be clear, you left a game because people were mean; and then came back and spent $400 (non-refundable) on resources for that game?

Here is the deal man, not everyone is mean, they are just mean to people who don't make smart choices. Eve is a cold wasteland, and it is harsh. There is no reason (literally none) you need $400 worth of PLEX with how new you are, then you jumped into a ship you CLEARLY weren't ready to fly, and to add insult to injury, didn't update your clone.

Skill, common sense, and knowledge of the environment is worth more than that PLEX could ever buy you (I think that is clear). I hope you come back, but I hope when you do, you understand that there are no shortcuts here, and the more you try to take, the more likely you are to have a similar experience.

Been a great day for laughs in Eve thought i would share with you all.

So last night some time, one of our members got on the killmail of a very poorly fitted hyperion and concord also managed to get on the killmail as well. They were also able to get the pod. We wake up the next morning we discovered a 1bil bounty on our member that killed the hyperion and pod, and a 1 bil bounty on the corporation, and our alliance has suddenly appeared 4th on the most wanted alliances with a 1 bil bounty. We all cant stop laughing :D

here are the killmails

Hyperion: http://veyr.griefwatch.net/?p=details&kill=5844
Pod: http://veyr.griefwatch.net/?p=details&kill=5845

So apparently after the bounties were placed, the member that killed the hyperion and pod was challenged to fight his brutix, and i kid you not.. this was the killmail...

http://veyr.griefwatch.net/?p=details&kill=5849

apparently this guy doesnt like to tank his ships...

Checking evekill, it would seem these kills dont exist?

Fail Troll?!?!

Still would be funny if that actually happened.
