400 alts are cheap, as long as the spice flows...Oops

A corp springing up out of thin air like that is a rather unnatural scenario. No real previously established community or anything?

you mean other than reddit?

not every redditor interested in EVE wants to play in 0.0 or enjoys TEST's alliance culture. So far fweddit was the only alternative and while fweddit doesn't share most of the more controversial aspects of TEST culture FW is a niche that few new players are interested in (there was an attempt at a wh corp but that died quickly and would not have catered to newbies anyways).

Brave Newbies is tapping the pool of redditors that have fallen through the cracks left by TEST and fweddit and their success shows just how many potential recruits TEST has been missing out on.

That being said - based on my experience with The 99 Percent and Fweddit - Brave Newbies is probably full of TEST alts.
This can be very valuable or it can be a serious problem.

Why a problem you ask? because your (by far) most experienced players have either learned to avoid responsibility like the plague or already have a "job" on their mains and little time or desire for two sets of roles.
While it would seem natural to recruit experienced players into director or FC positions this is a terrible idea as their (relative) inactivity in what for them is only an alt corp (useful for socializing or for when they are bored) will rub off on the corp as a whole.
However, if you do appoint true newbies (who hopefully are a little more enthusiastic) to positions of responsibility the older players can often give valuable advice without having to invest much time.

Also keep in mind that many of the alts will grow bored and leave after the first ~2 months.

Whatever the truth here, it is very unlikely that a 6 day old Corp will reach 100 members let alone 400. Guaranteed there are alts in there, and probably a lot of them. Whatever the case, if they are having fun, let them.

Seem TEST has set standings for brave newbies. Although they are neither blue nor red.

That's not to say brave newbies are all test alts. Just food for thought really.

Considering we do use Reddit, there are bound to be Dreddit/Fweddit alts in our corp, but most of them are genuine noobs.

They sound like they're having loads of fun, so I don't really care if they're real newbies or not. I just gotta persuade my newly started friend to give it a go. He's still on a mining/exploration bent...

Brave newbies? They were rejected from Dreddit due to lack activity on Reddit after Asakai. It just snowballed out of control after that, becomming a newbie training corp.

No doubt there's these what you call "bittervets" that have alts in our corp. There's also alts of the people who've war dec'd us (8-10 corps at the moment?) We have spies and we know it. We're all relatively new to the game, while some are resubs. Right now all we're doing is camping home, fighting off the war decs and winning the ISK war. I don't know where you came up with a conspiracy theory such as this, unless you were in our mumble spying when someone allegedly joked about us being test alts or whatever they said. If that's the case, all you did was cry wolf. Our member count is jumping up and down every day, i even got a mail today that one of them died :( 7o

Can't we just have fun without your weird BS?

Brave Newbies are pretty much the ppl on Reddit who seen the battle of Asakai thought it was cool and started a trial, i believe more then half of em fit that description the Corp was started quickly after the Asakai incident. They gathered much ppl because of the fact that alot of players that did not know about EvE gathered on the eve subreddit because of the asakai incident and where ppl gather stuff happends.

I think people are giving my abilities waaay too much credit. I'm starting to feel like Kaiser Soze.

It says something about the state of this game's community when people simply can't believe that a bunch of new players would join and play EVE like game. You know for fun. No they have to be the alts of top-tier nullsec alliances, because how else would they have killed that multibillion phallic enhancer that you had never flown into lowsec with?

I don't know much about what comes next, but if there's one mission we have in this game it's to have fun and mess things up. So far I think we are doing A+ on both fronts.

This is an exert from a community spotlight written by CCP Phantom: "Are you new to EVE Online? Welcome to the world of Brave Newbies Inc. then, a group of people that is mainly also new to EVE Online. This group is organized in the typical EVE Online manner as corporation; a corporation which sprung into existence on January 31, 2013, just a few days ago before these lines were written. On that day an individual person started playing EVE Online"

This is a farce Brave Newbies are TEST alts, thats right the entire group are TEST alts that have been playin eve-online for years. So if your joining up with them or flying with them your flying with seasoned bitter vets of eve-online that are from TEST. This whole deal is probably another way for TEST to recruit under the guise of the above community spotlight article. What a laugh.

Brave Newbies Inc. [SBOON]

These guys are really TEST alts portraying themselves as newbs trying to do one better than Eve University. The couldn't be further from eve uni if they tried. So TEST duders that can't even lift decided to make an alt newb corp to roam around and have fun. I think TEST are now the laugh riot of eve-online and not in a good way. Everyone should be pointing and laughing at these fools. Them claiming they are eve-uni part 2 is hilarious, it's already been done, and eve-uni did it best. Sit down Brave Newbies Inc. or should I say, "GO LIFT BRO!" I remember when I was BAD at eve once. You TEST pubbies should really go and try to find yourselves, everybody knows you always wanted to be GOONS but you just never got there. Just cause you act like GOONS, say the same stuff in local as the GOONS do, and fly all blobby like the GOONS doesn't make you a GOON. Nice try TEST, please create another fake newb corp wannabe eve-uni part 2 or better yet why not go do some level 4's reverse safari style. HERP DERP HERPDY DERP.

So now everyone in EVE knows Brave Newbies is TEST alts and apparently CCP wants everyone to think its some new people coming into the game, which isn't true, it's bitter vets making a newb corp and lying to the general public about their veteran status in eve. good game man....

The way you talk about us reminds me of a guy we ran into during a low/null sec roam earlier. In fact it wouldn't surprise me in the least bit that you were him. A member of Brave Newbies said the "F" word in local and some guy, like yourself cried because his children play this game. He even let us know that he sent in a petition to CCP. Mmmm salty tears. Anyways, where are you getting this allegation that we're claiming to be EVE UNI 2? This is news to me.

All the real TEST guys are going to get a good laugh out of this due to the fact that you're just a total idiot making false accusations. In fact, if this already hasn't been posted to their subreddit then i will do the honor.

Just because we got started off of reddit, doesn't mean we are test.
Just because we spam local with our own propaganda doesn't mean we are test.
Just because we know a little bit about the main drama that goes on in EVE (thanks to reddit) doesn't mean we are test.
Just because we have more losses (lol) than kills doesn't mean we are test.

Now pls go. Do everyone on the internet a favor and go.

Just because we're having more fun in this game than you more than likely ever have mining your rocks in 1.0 doesn't give you the right to spread rumors, VERY UNTRUE rumors about a corp with one goal in mind, lose your ship and have fun doing it.

We're currently in the spotlight, mainly thanks to CCP. We don't even know where this is going currently, but i feel that a lot of members who have been on for hours on end the past week defending Hek from war dec's feel the same way that i do. We're in for the long run.

Kills: 213
Losses: 2946
Damage done (ISK): 29.33B
Damage received (ISK): 14.04B
Efficiency: 67.63%

I only wonder one thing here, OP. How can you write a post that long with those claims without a single sentence to prove it?

I'm gonna give it a go here:
"Trader Bait" is horrible at checking facts, backing up claims and even posting twice in his own thread."

You see what I did there? I just threw a statement out there - without anything to back it up - and who knows who'll believe me?
It's also pretty funny that if you have fun, act unorganized, swarm in frigates/destroyers you HAVE to be goon/TEST alts.

You want the truth? We're all CCP - how else would we've gotten the spotlight?

But sssshh... Don't tell anyone!

believe it or not - your corp recruits from reddit, you look like you are having fun and there's nothing more adorable than shobon newbies - of course you are full of test alts.

and with the spotlight devblog you'll get even more alts from all areas of the game.

that's how eve works, alts are cheap and people flock to locations where fun seems to be had.
