FW Offensive Plexes

I've just returned after some years absence, I have about 1.6m SP and been mainly doing defensive plexes. Yesterday night I tried a Small Offensive and couldn't break the NPC's armor tank with my incursus. According to the fitting thing I have ~56 DPS. How much more do I need to run offensive sites?

with so little SP, you're going to have to stick to novices in that incursus. You'll need over 100dps (or more) to break the tank on the small.

Ah Novices? For some reason the system I got into had close to 6 Smalls, 2 Mediums but no Novices.
Is it entirely random how many of each exist or does contested % affect it?

Standard for every system is one novice, one small, one med. Others spawn randomly, so there can be lots and lots in a single system.
A standard plex that is finished will respawn 15 to 30 minutes later, depending on its size (i think).

They spawn randomly. Chances are someone had already run he novice in that system. Given a about 20mins, a new novice should respawn. Just hceck surrounding systems until you find one.

I don't think you need much more. I've cleared small plexes with a Condor only doing about 85dps. Were you using your little drone? Blasters, faction antimatter and a hobgoblin you should be able to crank up the dps with very little training and the right fit. Failing that plex with a buddy, you can both clear the rats together on 2 plexes then run the timers down on your own!

90fps is minimum in my tests (meta4 blasters with lvl4 skills) resulting in acceptable amount of time to kill NPCs.

So small, plexes designed for dessies and T2 frigs, can be done in ****-fit (practically) T1 frigs?

My generic slicer fit doesn't run into issues until it hits large plexes, but have heard 225-250dps being needed for those so makes sense (not heating my damn guns for a rat!) .. so much for 'using appropriate ships' Sad

It is understandable that CCP does not want to impede on the pew with excessive rat interference but they were advised of the ease with which plexing could be done in frigs all the way up to large during testing and yet have for some reason chosen not to address it ... makes one wonder if they actually want the farm as some people accuse them of rather than the pew that they stated (doing the opposite of what one says, is the producer a politician by any chance? Smile).

Really annoying part for me is that they adopted the idea to have a unique rat sub-set that was not in use elsewhere, thus tweakable without breakage which was their main excuse when NPC complaints started all those years ago and all they used it for was a custom (weak) tank and forced spawn stops.

Not really sure if FW is worth it anymore .. which leaves nothing in Eve apart for maybe piracy. Wonder if the Empire would issue me a letter of marque that I may shoot all personal/corp reds as if they were WT .. Smile
