Who doesn't like to drink and blow up ships?

This is an idea I've thrown out to a few people with very positive results, if it was possible and figured I would see what other people in the community thought about it. A friend has also posted this to reddit for feedback there as well. The idea is similar to barcraft, which are the pub crawl / meetups where starcraft players would meet up, watch live streaming, play one another, drink and socialize.

I'm posting this mainly to get feedback on if this concept would even be possible, if there would be any interest, or if there are people who would be interested in setting up events in their city/state/whatever.

The way it works is simple. Players plan a meet up at a specific bar, or even several bars in the city (good idea if there is a huge turn out to deal with net connectivity issues). These players socialize, booze it up and talk about all things Eve (or whatever, who am I to say what you can talk about). There could also be under age meetups at coffee shops or where ever the kids go these days.

Now this is where things get interesting. These players can then form up fleets, and go out and take on the players of other bars. I'm thinking faction warfare would be the best option because it is the quickest easiest way for players to start blowing up each other (don't need to deal with hs, wars, standing losses, etc). Different bars can then join up in different fleets, join specific factions, or just go solo and get tears from everyone.

Think about it. several bars in Seattle taking on a few bars in San Francisco, with a bar in NYC and Gainsville teaming up while some guys in Minneapolis are just shooting everyone.

Know someone with a laptop who has never played Eve? Have them come out and start a 21 day free account and have them fly around in free frigates. Random people at the bar showing interest? Throw a laptop in their hand or have a few CD's with the eve download saved on it and have them join in the action.

Also some final notes. Bars love this type of thing (at least in Seattle) and often you can get cheap drinks/deals / specialty drinks (what would the Rifter shot have in it anyways). Also one goal would be to try getting sponsorship, donations, etc. from other eve players/corps/alliances (involved in the bar events or just people who want to make getting pilots into ships quicker, easier, cheaper.

So what do you guys think? Is this even possible? Would people even care to get involved? Unrealistic, super awesome or just lame?

I've seen a santa going down on another santa at a pub crawl event, so if you want to sit around in your underwear playing space ships in a bar it wouldn't be as bad as some things people have seen before.
