I've only ever had 1 account and ive been playing since June 2003.
And if you are part of a good corp you can do anything in 0.0 and I've flown with the same players since then and fully trust them

I multibox only because of mining.

* 1 account - orca booster
* 1 account - orca hauler (that way I can tractor cans, would rather do that than make myself a suicide ganking target, hard lesson)
* 6 ice miners

I know that ice mining nets less than ore mining per hour, but I prefer it because I don't have to constantly reselect new asteriods because they're running out, and move around as consequence.

I know there are alot of posters that rap on miners, but I like it because it allows me to do other things (homework, chatting, watching movies, posting :D), while still making an all-be-it semi-passive income ingame.

Being that that's the only reason I have the multiple accounts, if CPP decides to remove ice from high sec or make ice depletable then I'll auction off the chars and close the accounts down to my primary (this) char. Their loss :P

I have a few accounts.

They all research BPOs, create copy packs, do PI, manufacture items for sale, fly in mining fleets, move stuff via carriers or jfs.

If I could be asked to put them all into drakes, I'd have my own blob and go roaming or camp gates.

More is more.

Eve is about Capital ships, WiS, Boobs, PI and Isk!

I run five accounts, and I need all of them because I refuse to make any human contact in this game. Everything is so much easier when you can just do it with alts instead of having to deal with other people.

Hmm, one account, but with three characters.

One is 'me'.

A second one is a hauler alt, to carry my stuff around. This is a roleplaying decision, because 'I' wouldn't get caught doing menial labour for which I have underlings storywise. I'm planning to train him to do some mining later on.

The third is just an administrative alt keeping all equipment and money I don't need at the moment. I'll maybe train her for planetary interaction later on.

The three are intervowen by my background story, but the alts are just faceless minions. So no identification problems.

With one account I'm also using only one training queue so I'm actually just pushing an aspect of the game that I would like to have, but that doesn't fit the personality of my main, on an alt.

I guess I could kick the second alt completely, and I of course could use courier contracts for hauling my stuff, but I feel it's not worth the hassle, as I tend to move my household a lot Blink

Hello Friends,

I was curious how many out there are like me? Or maybe I am the only one.

I choose not to use multiple accounts. I like having the one character that is "me." The choices I make with my one character are important because I do not have another account to run too if I mess things up. I have been in corps where if we are wardecced, the other players just doesn't log in for a week and instead plays a different account not in war.

I have a personal friend with no less then 6 accounts! To me this is madness, that is a lot of money on subs a month! He doesn't even play one of them. It is in a safe station on training mode with high level implants. Evemon tells my friend he will be ready to come out sometime in July.

The question is:
If you use multiple accounts, how do you use them? Why do you use them?

I was like you once. Resistant to get alts. 3 years into eve. Then I finally suckered into getting Eve-Online steam 5$ deal. That's when my first and only alt is born.

Did not regret having 2nd alt. It really helped alot. At first, I used him as a "Swiss Army Knife". Probing, scouting, cyno, hacking, salvaging, and analyzing.

Now, he's a logistic partner to this main guy. Basilisk and Guardian pilot. Soon, I'm promoting the alt to be a competent PvP'er and a Rhea pilot. Also a decent industrial char.

Also a really good partner alt to have incursion with, double the rewards compared to just single character.

IMO, all you need is one good alt. Still don't understand why you need third, but I approve having one alt to support your main.

TBH, my alt is a leecher right now, and wasting away my isk with the plex buying, but he's gonna be worth it in the future. :)

I have two accounts, Rico is my 'real' main. I have a 35 mill indy.ratter/pvp toon on this account that I use for pvp when Rico is unavailable due to JCs etc. I have a second account with a Jita marketeer, an ice miner and is now training a new pure pvp toon.

As a ceo it makes life easier to have toons available in other places to do boring stuff, and sometimes to have a toon that your corp doesnt realise is you, just so you get some peace and quiet occasionally.

Trust me, I almost know what I'm doing.

First rule is to know what you want in EVE and then pursue to do it!

Second rule is that once you know the above you can decide if you need a second account.

I for one have two accounts and I couldn't live without 2.

First account is all out PVP char. (only combat skills) - gives me all the fun i need to enjoy EVE.

Second account is all non-PvP char. (mainly trade/mining/industry) - gives me all the ISK/support i need to PvP

I have three accounts.

1. PVE mission running.
2. Miner
3. PvP

The reason i keep them on seperate accounts is simply 1. So that whatever i am doing with my PvP or PvE characters i can have my miner mining on my second pc for some semi-passive income and 2. So that when i PvP if i upset anyone it does not effect my ability to Mine/PvE and doesn't cause probelems for the corp i am in.

4 accounts

this one , pure amarrian and training mainly in combat pve with some pvp experience

account 2 my oldest caldaro started of as a pve pilot but gradually trained into mining and pi aswell , bit of a hybrid between miner and combat

account 3 minmatar my industrial character /jumpfreighter pilot , perfect mining skills , perfect refining skill perfect manufacturing skillsand can invent and manufacture all t1 and most t2 items plus able to fly a jumpfreighter

account 4 minmatar again , good mining skills pergfect PI skills and relative good missionruner

Why , different playstyles is fun and give you so much more flexibility

plus a host of cyno alts i made while i lived in 0.0 sec long time ago

I do not agree with what you are saying , but i will defend to the death your right to say it...... Voltaire

You can always take a second account for like say a year or two, skill two chars with the 2th account and transfer them to your main account. Then just keep one main account with two skilled alts.

I have 2 accounts (total of 5 toons)

Toon 1 - account A (my main):

- Industry toon (hulk / rorq / production)
- Basic pvp skills
- Decent pve skills

Toon 2 - account A:

- Basic PvP
- Not skilling
- Jita based for market checks
- Not used much

Toon 3 - Account B (2nd 'Main'):

- Hulk and JF
- Pvp skilling
- To support my actual main with stuff

Toon 4 - Account B:

- Out of alliance hauler
- Only used for high value stuff or during wars

Toon 5 - Account B:

- Alliance holding corp character, not used, not trained.

So I actually 'play' on 2 toons on 2 accounts, the other 3 are back up if I need stuff checked or some really high valued stuff shipped around.

Our CEO actually does that too, he has 2 toons in corp that only the directors know of that it's him, so they can convo him if something important come up but in general we play with him like he is a normal toon. As CEO it is one of the few ways to not be bothered with corp related stuff everytime you log in.

I run 4 clients on the same box, at the same time. Two monitors.

A lot of the previous posts give good reasons for having 12 characters, but my main reason for 4 accounts is that I am primarily a miner. The larger the mining fleet, the more ore it produces. With two Hulks and two Orcas I could theoretically produce about 80 m3 of ore per second. This would fill the 'hauler' Orca in about 39 minutes.

Why not recruit? I've never had an applicant finish the probation period without being fired. For me, at least, recruiting isn't worth the effort.

No, it isn't. You just need to learn to trust people. The current atmosphere of the game makes that difficult, but it's not impossible, and it's not CCP's fault.

Indeed. The failure of players to trust each other enough is at the root of many of EvE's current shortcomings and most obviously the shameful levels of under-population in Nullsec.

Though this is certainly the result of player behaviour to a large extent, I believe that CCP is also partly to blame. Look at how they publicised grand tales of "revenge through betrayal" in their trailers and other materials ...

If you make such behaviour the archteype of the sort of uber-thrill you can get out of playing EvE, it is hardly surprising to end up with low levels of trust between players.

For capital pilots, you definitely need at least another one

You could make all the friends in the world, but you will start to lose them because all they will ever hear from you is "can you cyno me to x"
