So, say I started a gallente char to be with friends a few days ago, but im taking a ECM route, which is more effective when used with Caldari ships.

Is it easy for me to obtain Caldari ships? Or should I just stick with gallente ships with less effective ECM.

Of course it's easy. The skills for the ships are available (with no markup) in any school station, even Gallente ones, and the ships are produced by players, and the manufacturers and traders among us always strive to fill every market, everywhere with all possible things. You may pay slightly more for the ships, but it's like 1% - 5% minor, really.

What race you are only affects your looks (and roleplay if you're interested in that). The game doesn't otherwise limit you in any way. Train whatever skills you want, do whatever you want.

I'm Gallente and fly Gallente, Caldari, and Minmatar ships.

Cross training is always an option as a capsuleer. You just grab the skills you need, plug em in, and train! If you are wanting to pursue the ECM route, Caldari it up and throw those skills in your brain!!

Never forget to update your clone while training as you progress in the game!!!!!!

Well, if you're running gallente _missions_ then your loyalty point rewards are going to be gallente ships and weapons rather than Caldari. Same with FW rewards.

Other than that, it doesn't matter, if you're doing Caldari missions it doesn't matter what your base race is, and even standings don't matter on the open market where you buy things with isk. Even as a Gallente pilot doing Gallente missions the markup on caldari stuff in your region is likely to be minimal.

Every race can train every skill and fly every ship. By one month in the only difference race makes is what newbie ship you get when you show up in station in a Pod and the NPC corp you goto if you get booted from your Player Corp. Smile
