EVE launches from wine, and i can be in the hangar... but if i try to access planet view or if i try to undock from the station wine crashes with the following crash report

Unhandled exception: page fault on read access to 0x00000000 in 32-bit code (0xf711ba56).

followed by a REALLY long backtrace that i could copy and paste in here but... again its REALLY long.

id like to be able to undock, that seems like a good thing to be able to do so if you guys have any recommendations id love to hear them...

Best advice I can give you is to update your wine to the latest version (which is 1.5.23 afaik). Please also read this forum post because it specifically deals with running eve on Ubuntu.

What's Linux 12.10? If it's Ubuntu 12.10 I would upgrade to the newest version of wine.

http://www.winehq.org/download/ubuntu

Now you'll need to make sure you have d3d11 support turned off.
Run winecfg and select -> Libraries -> [New override for library: ] d3d11 -> Add -> Edit... -> Disable

The 12.04 instructions should work the same for 12.10. Just get that wine update, and you should be fine.
