Hi all,

so I see the price for this item is rising at a fast pace, though I don't think I fully understand it. is this the price rise Akita T has told us about, back when the Technetium prices started to rise? or is something else happening? where will it end? is it just another bubble or...?

would love to hear your thoughts on this, also on what effects it will hold in the future if this price stays up for an extended amount of time.

im not aware of any recent or coming changes that would explain its price increase. ingame sell volume hastnt changed, so im pretty sure its handmade (bubble). But I guess, you didnt rly wanted to ask that with ur post so w/e.

thanks for your input on this. the fact that the sell volume hasnt changed was the part that made me step away from my beliefs that manip was in place (apart from the fact that substantial amounts of isk would be needed to do so).

A word of caution. If you do not understand it, don't invest in it.

nope nope.....to keep it more simple:

unchanged demand/supply + increased prices = its likely the market got manipulated (in the one way or the other)

I think Neodymium is second only to Thulium for manipulation attempts and forum posts.

Neodymium is capped by alchemy, though I can't be bothered to do the math:
* Unrefined Neo Mercurite -> 40 Neo Mercurite + 95 Mercury
* Unrefined Fluxed Condensates -> 40 Fluxed Condensates
I tested this myself recently, as so many references are incorrect.

Given the current respective prices of the inputs, Neo can hardly be called "capped" by Alchemy, as the reaction is worth nearly a billion isk a month right now, and has been moving between 400-500m/mo for the past few weeks.

pl and test, not quite getting that a manipulation you tell everyone about is a bad manipulation, have told everyone that current neo prices are the result of their manipulation

yeah huh, I guess the OP was right in calling it a manip.

well, whatever. after I read the OP I looked at numbers and decided to write a little post about alchemy because I figured people might want to know how to do something that's currently so relatively profitable.

PL is running around gathering up a lot of neo moons, although I doubt this accounts for much of the rise. Just food for thought.

PL taxes its' members tech moons, but not their neo moons

so pl corps and members realized if they owned neo moons they'd actually keep more of the money rather than the foul taxman taking it, so they went and grabbed a bunch

i assume they're rethinking that tax scheme

So.... if I understand correctly, neo is going up which therefore makes the neo related alchemy profitable. This combined with your "neo alchemy makes 1b/month" article on TMC means everyone and their mother will be doing neo alchemy now. Both the neo alchemy reactions use platinum.

So..... my takeaway from all this is that plat should go up in price?

what a great post. I take pride in the fact that I've inspired you to such heights by starting this thread.
don't worry, I won't take any credit for what you wrote. donations welcomed Lol

***** and giggles aside,
indeed platinum prices are following. so are a few others by the look of the market graphs... seems you have dragged quite some people along the road of the wondrous world of alchemy... with platinum on the lose (if this so happens) would platinum technite be next? or would it not make a dent in the scales as opposed to technetium prices? and at what price will it not be worth it to the alchemists out there to continue neo mercurite alchemy? I guess that would dictate the hard cap on platinum, won't it?

btw why thank you, this tinfoil hat does seem to suit me well. hand crafted, if I may add...

-edit-

lol at my own lack of research. glanced at the graph once more, saw where I went wrong...

I wonder how many people you tricked into doing this. Nobody is gonna buy that overpriced neo-merc on the market, nobody buys intermediaries anyway. When that **** starts going for what it's actually worth your reaction will be make <100m / month except by then plat will be even lower so you can forget about alchemy altogether.
