What % of new players stick with the game?

What % of new players stick with the game? Of the people who started within the past 2 or 3 years what % do you think stayed with the game?

Then think back 7 or 8 years. What % of the new players back then stuck with the game?

And not retread players who have been in and out of the game for a long time, rather brand new blood.

See here and scroll down to Skillpoint Distribution.

Loss is meaningful. Therefore is the loss of meaning likewise meaningful. It is the source of all trolling.

That chart is only an example of those pilots registered on EVEboard, which tends to indicate they are almost all active pilots, or have been. In fact, it only actually accounts for 160K pilots in total over the span of its development. Assuming we can eliminate those pilots registered who have been deactivated, then we can say that all the pilots there are active, or mostly active to date.

You'd have to ask Chribba to know for sure.

Considering how hard CCP is pushing the "Power of Two" promos, it's probably not very good.....

The problem with all such metrics is that it's impossible to know how many of the 'new' accounts that are really new and how many that are returnees, alts or just people rolling a trial noob for fun (or more sinister reasons).

Edit:
And as a side note.
The power of two accounts need not to be alts.

I used it to kickstart an account for a friend, and he's still playing, years later.

CCP Greyscale: As to starbases, we agree it's pretty terrible, but we don't want to delay the entire release just for this one factor.

Yes they do. They're registered automatically in your name, which means that any transferral to a friend is therefore BANNABLE under article 3 of the EULA, change of name under account details or not.

On a two week trial, your average player gets 'free stuff'' can griefed on his first day. Can flipped on his second day. Ganked on the third while mining in his noob mining ship. Gate ganked on the fifth day hauling his stuff to a market hub and robbed in a corp recruitment scam on the sixth. He stops logging in on the seventh day.

I am going to guess about the same percentage who stick with crossfit after their first workout.

I'm pretty sure that this isn't information that can possibly be meaningful to you.

i think about 1 out of 5 sub to the game after playing the trial. Out of the trial players that stick proly only 10 percent sub for at least 3 months. and i think only like 2 percent of the 10 percent sub for at least 6 months. I myself have been playin sinice 2009 and i have quit playing like 3 times already...the only way i believe for people to stick to eve is if they find a great corp on their first or second attempt...i myself want to see it all in eve...and i get lost in the crowd alot and therefore unsub...i cant imagine a new player tryin to take it all in considering most players nowadays want instant gratification

Actually, it's very obvious that you think this is an exceedingly low number. So low, in fact, that the tired old meme "Eve is Dying" is actually true. Obviously, the player retention efforts that CCP have put in place are so terrible that they have one of the only MMOs in the world with a positive growth rate for a ******* decade.

Seriously, if you have ideas for how to help the NPE, then spit them out. If you want to tell everyone you know how to run a game company better than CCP... well, you're free to try. Get some venture funding, start a company. Hire a bunch of people. Find out just how much you didn't know.

Chart is flawed as it only incorporates players who have bothered to upload their api, and thus, includes practically NONE of the players who tried eve, and did not stick with the game.

Working on my second month here.

It looks like the average account age is 4 years?

Not sure I'll make it that long, but I am glad I came to try out EVE. Was on my to-do list a long while.
