Dreads in wormholes

Recently started training towards a dread for some capital escalation in wormholes.

Trying to find some information on, what would suit the purpose best, i read the that Moros was the best choice as it could assist on damage (without having a lot of "support" ships webbing and painting) through its drones.

However the recent change, removing the drone bonus of the Moros, I was wonderinf if this is still the right choice, or I should change my training before I train to deep into the Moros

Moros will soon lose its Drone bay , read the Dev blog from yesterday for more details. Sorry, cant tell you more about what would be the next best choice but I´m sure the guys in C5/C6 already playing on SiSi and will maybe tell you :-)

If you are only using your Moros for drone damage in a capital escalation, you are doing it wrong. I expect the Moros will still be a great ship for capital escalations after these changes(especially if the hybrid changes affect capital blasters). Currently, the best two dreads for cap escalations are the Moros and Revelation, in my opinion.

This change seriously impacts my training plans... I now have no real clue what the hell direction I should go with this stuff.

You see I just recently opened up capitals - I can go for gallente and minmatar. The mixed weapons on the minmatar have me muttering (I'll need to bring up missile skills) but I do have drone skills so the Moros was my foremost choice.

Uph... Oh well, I still have some small ships skills I can just push into the queue until I hear about how it turns out. SiSi has a rather old build on it and I can't fly caps there.

Such is life. :-p

Moros and Revelation will still be great for wormholes...drones doesn't matter.

The Moros's drone bay did squat when it came to cap escalating Sleeper sites. Now it's been replaced by a RoF bonus, which is a very hefty buff. Before this change, I'd have called the Revalation the best w-space dread; now, I'm not so sure. I think i'd still prefer the slot layout on the Rev; plus you don't have to bring in extra ammo or reload.

When I was escalating with a moros, I usually didn't bother with drones (occasionally dropped sentries, but usually didn't care) simply because even guarde II's can only put out about 600dps or so wtih max skills on a moros. I can get blasters to pump out about 6k dps. The only thing you need is the target well webbed, and you can usually manage that with about 3 or 4 standard 60% webs on target. If you can get above 60% webs (aka, you put a ship with a web strength bonus on the field) so much the better, cause you can get much better with 1-2 of their webs. But the primary purpose is to hammer the targets with the dreadnought guns while in seige mode.

I'd prolly stick to the Rev, as you can easily swap in more DPS or tank as you skill up. And crystals = no ammo worries in W space, even with a BP at ur pos to build ammo.

But i think it depends on what BS skill you are training, or have trained to 5, and what weapons you use. Dreads are not worth cross training for

The rev is probably the best overall dread for sleeper ops, since Sleeper Battleships will be in the sweet spot range of your Dual giga Pulse lasers with Multifrequency, maximizing your damage. Faction crystals last you 4000 shots each and are very good for the amount you pay and take up very little room (1 m3 each), allowing you to use your cargohold to store fuel, strontium, etc.

The moros also works, it has better tracking but at the cost of shorter range, meaning you'll be stuck using Uranium instead of Antimatter. Not to mention you chew through ammo pretty quickly.

If you want to use Dreads for sleepers ops I would advise against training for the Phoenix as citadel torpedos and cruises do crap damage against sleepers, even when webbed or painted. The same problem arises for the Naglfar, but it still has 2 dual bonused turrets.

Here is the order Rev > Moros > Naglfar >>>>>> Phoenix (missiles suck).
