Can I just outright remove someone from Corp? I see when I "Expel Member" they are not gone. I need to strip them of all roles? Wait 24hours? Do they need to leave on their own? Thanks for the help.

I think, if they're docked or offline you can kick them (instantly), but if they're flying around in space you can't (to prevent some sort of abuse that happened in the past).

EDIT: If you're at the kicking point, definitely strip off all the roles immediately. You don't want them to loot your stuff on the way out.

Last i checked they had to be docked somewhere but that was two years ago. You can strip roles whenever you want though.

Merouk Baas, I must say Ive enjoyed all your help. Ive been lurking here for awhile and you always have great detailed info. So thank you.

Also. When I set up my corp I made it a point never to grant anyone any roles that put me at a disadvantage, I will leave it at that. But thanks for the reminder. (In EVE you can't trust ANYONE)

But my question was I cannot kick out people even when they are docked, it seems like there is some sort of 24 hour timer or something like that. I would like to be able to insta kick, but that does not seem to be an option.

Then they have roles of some kind. Did you give them titles maybe?

That is only if they are currently logged on. Doesn't matter where they are when they are logged off.

Hey there!

If you have granted someone roles you need to remove all roles, then wait 24 hours to kick them.
As others have mentioned you can not kick someone while their in space/online.
If they have no roles and you use the "expel member" option they will instantly be removed from the corp.
If you are doing this trough the member list (under corporation) were you see details about a members location, last online, active ship and so on there is a delay and the member will appear on the list for a few minutes. But if you show info on said member it should show the correct information (in an NPC corp).
You will also see similar delays with corp chat unless this has been fixed were a member that recently left/got kicked will appear to be in corp chat. This is just a bug and in realety they can not see what is beeing said in corp chat, who is online, or say anything. A relog normally fixes that issue.

Another way to check if someone got kicked (the lazy way to check that i use when i kick several people for inactivety or similar) is to just show info on the corp and check the total member count. Also if your a CEO you should get a notification that someone has been removed from the corp/left the corp i think.. Someone has to clarefy that one tho.

Good luck Big smile

Edit. Realized i forgot to mention one rather important thing. A director can NOT remove the roles from another director or shareholder. If the person in question has director roles the CEO needs to remove those roles, and if the person is a share holder you need to get more shares then said person (if their incative they wont vote,so ofc their vote wont impact you getting more shares). Only had to do this last on once,so its not something i have much exsperiense with so might be missing a step or two in there.

CEO's indeed get a notification for anyone leaving the corporation, it does not matter if the player left on his own accord or got kicked: CEO's will always get that notification.

The need to wait 24hrs when switching corps is known as Corporate Stasis. Corporate Stasis will happen if the character has roles, or had roles in the last 24 hrs. Stripping someone's roles before kicking them will not prevent Corporate Stasis, unless you wait 24hrs after stripping roles, and then expell the character.

A small note: your corp's info tab will remain the same and list the same number of people when you kick someone. This is just cache, if you are CEO and update your corporation's settings (even if you don't change anything) the information panel will refresh and show you the correct number.

Thanks everyone! This helped a lot, these said members had "Roles" & "Titles" which were stripped and now the 24 hour status is now in place.

Also to any new member starting a corp, make sure you take the steps to protect yourself. Sure glad I did or I might be sitting with a 0 ISK corp wallet & cleaned out hanger right now. Big smile
