I went to sleep a little early last night and power slept the night away. Woke up once at 2 in the morning and again at 4:30 am and figured I may as well come to work. Been here since 6 am. Gonna finish up my very lax and easy test and be heading home well before rush hour traffic.

One minor annoyance after another. Many my own fault. Good thing I don't have any meetings today. X

Is it at least a casual friday?

Around here, only if I buy into some sponsered charity.
Which I decline to do.

My department is quite a bit more lax on those rules. We are allowed to wear jeans or shorts, but low rise is out of the question and shorts must be as long as the tips of your fingers. T-shirts are allowed but they can not have images on them. They also have to cover the entire upper body, no midriffs. Even with that lax I still usually go business casual just because it looks more professional. Never in my life had I done full business up until the last quarter of school (which finished in December), and now I finally know how to tie a tie.

Having said that I'm in designer camo pants and a t-shirt today because I was meh on wanting to dress myself this morning. But I'm in a secure lab and don't see many people on a typical workday.

We're normally 'Business Casual,' but that's actually pretty strictly enforced. Even on 'jeans days' shorts are verboten. Shoes & sandals must be closed-toe.
OTOH, tradition frowns mightily on anyone dressing higher than Business Casual unless they're executives. We're a pharma, and FDA auditors wear suits - If anyone of us were to wear a suit in, we'd give half the wing heart attacks before they realized who we were. Blink

Contractors are installing a sign outside, and of course its my cubicle they have to go through to get to the wiring. Great. I had to temporarily relocate to a cube out in the middle of the office, where everybody can see my monitor from behind. They said it would only be for a day, but it's been a week. Wunderbar. This is really putting a damper on my at-work EVE forums browsing and posting.

Just hope they don't decide to simply leave you where you are when the contractors are done. Shocked

Slow day at work today.

Got into a heated debate about how our outdated emergency diesel generators switch over on a lose of normal power.

Got told that a couple single phase breakers in a 208V 3 phase electrical panel were the wrong size. Station Engineer said they were 20A and wants 15A in there. Ah, mind taxing time I think to myself.

Went to said panel to see if I needed GE or Square-D breakers. We have panels made by several different manufactures.

Found that the breakers in there are already at the required 15A. Asked Station Engineer about this. Now wants 10A breakers and "knows" we have them in stock. So I check my inventory. Nope, we have none.

Go online to order said breakers. Can't find any. Starting to think GE doesn't make 10A 120V/240V single phase breakers as none of the vendors we use carry them. Asked Station engineer about this. Told 15A breakers are fine.

Starting to question why I came in today. Considered either sticking my head in said panel and bashing it with the panel door or licking the bus work.

Surrender is still your slightly less painful option.

He obviously meant AQ-902R breakers. Go find a naval shipyard and salvage them out of a rusty old hull.

Or maybe you want to lick the busswork anyway. I hear that ozone+copper tastes like cherry cola.

For some vague reason, that P/N looks familiar.

Did a google search, nothing remotely electrical like came up.

If it's what I think it is, we had a butt tonne of those on the boat I was on during my Navy days.

Very likely you did. 'Specially if it were a nuc boat.

Edit:
Ooops. Too long out the Nav - ACB-902R.

While I was in, the only boats the Nav had were nucs.

I was an EM2/SS. So I should technically know all that stuff. But, it was quite a long time. Memory failing due to wife and kid.....

If memory services me correctly, those should be the "small" 3 phase panel feeder breakers used on the 6S and 5S switchgear.

Would help if I could find a picture.

That, and MCP breakers.
