The Next Expansion ...A REAL Expansion

CCP has already stated that there will be no more expanding of the actual Eve universe until they feel that the systems that are in place now are at peak performance, Faction Warfare is finished, ship balancing is underway, Nullsec looks like it will be the next thing to be getting some love. I imagine i might not be too much longer before they do decide to open some additional pockets to roam around in though. I for one would like to see a section of space that really, truly is deadspace, no chat channels at all save for fleet, corp, and alliance comms as those would only make sense. reasonable penalties to single ships encouraging the use of fleets only in this type of space. No stations not much unlike wormhole space, no ability to put up POSes forcing players to take what resources they want out with them when they go. Incursion AI pirates all over the place, as a matter of fact, maybe make this type of space specifically pirate space and a good place to rebuild standing. Lots of Pirate hubs, dens, fortresses, and the lot perhaps making this type of space more exploration oriented where warping to one site gives you a better fix on other sites or something. I would even make the use of the combat scanners ability to scan down individual ships impossible to do increasing the fog of war effect in this type of space.

What farming hubs where you never see hostiles for months on end?

And tbh this is a very simple yet very important point.

Maybe an answer would to make SOV an isk sink byincreasing costs exponentially, maybe taking into account the number of systems from a definate 'central' home system.

Therefore all sovereignity is linked and spreads from a central point by distance ..and the further away the higher the cost to upkeep. I mean alot higher than now.

If this could be implemented into the current state of the game it would maybe force force the larger alliances / coalitions to downsize before these changes take , to keep whats important to them.

Additionally a limit on the amount of control which could be wielded by an alliance needs to depend on something else. Something other than number of members though that could be a factor. Something akin to a starbase charter which actually takes some kind of effort to achieve- even if its from needing regular fleets to go out an 'farm' these. (this could be particularly interesting if these items where visable on the starmap, especially for opposing alliances ;) )

In addition to a less 'finite' new Eden this could be create a very very interesting future.
