I was thinking that too, imagine CCP seeded trit for a week @ 1 isk/piece? i have a feeling i'd be buying my chimera for a couple tens of millions.. lol

It would only profit to major alliances and big wallets.

Imagine someone buying let's say 7 trillions of trit at 1isk/un, then CCP stops seeding lol stuff and prices get back on track.
Now your ubber alliance can sell their 7 trillions of trit at 5+isk/u

Alliances are not the only ones smart enough to speculate on that stuff, many solo players/traders have really really huge wallets.

Thank you for making huge wallets even bigger with your silly ideas and completely smashed miners work.

and all this makes me wonder why people ask for highsec to get nerfed.... when it IS getting nerfed as we speak! and as usual narrow minded highsec dwellers don't even realize it. trit will hit 10isk, and they will still race each other to mine the exhausted belts instead of securing lowsec or claiming SoV.

There are plenty of belts that don't get mined out daily.

I think the issue is that mining is boring and most people won't do it no matter how profitable it becomes. Missioning on the other hand seems preferred amoung the player base. Since missioning is a pure Isk faucet, that causes inflation on minerals since its not ecouraging production of minerals.

If more people switched from missioning to mining we'd see prices go down somewhat, but you are right as there is a hard limit on how much ore can be mined every day in hi sec.

I think the issue here is that people are looking for a solution for a non-problem.

High ore prices mean the economy is healthy and there is a demand for ore for ship building which means people are losing ships one way or another whcih means they are playing.

Looking to talk on VOIP with other EVE players? Are you new and need help with EVE (welfare) or looking for advice? Looking for adversarial debate with angry people?

More people.

Trit and plex have everything to do with the number of people playing. The more people that play, the more demand, the higher prices go.

More players does not make more supply, it always makes more demand.

Consumption is the biggest impactor in EVE, and the more people that play, the more consumption there is.

Low end ores are available in infinite amount as some missions contain asteroids and those mission sites can be spawned indefinitely. There is no fear of running out of Veldspar. If I remember right and gravimetric sites respawn as soon as one is depleted/despawns, then lowsec ores are also available indefinitely, just not as easy to find.
