Leadership skill and mining drones with mining foreman skill

alright i have leadership II and two other people in my squad they get my mining foreman V skill bonus then i launch my four mining drones and it stops allowing me to boost apparently the mining drones are considered squad members because the boost can effect them or is this a bug?

The words are all there use some common sense please, and thank you for contributing in a way that applies to the topic in any way. i type they way i talk and if i was talking to someone i would of said that all in one sentence this is not a question about the English languages text format, where commas indicate a pause or breath in dictation i did not intend a pause or breathe in dictaion and cosidering the words ended there is no point in a period if nothing comes after it the period is unnecessary as there is a question mark at the end

How exactly do you know that it stops allowing you to boost?

Does the GREEN CHECKMARK in the fleet window change to a RED X?

yes the GREEN CHECKMARK turns into a RED X, but only when I launch the mining drones.

ok i figured it out, if the drones can get a booster bonus then you must have the leadership skills required to allow the boost to happen. i got my leadership high enough for 6 squad members and i had me and one other person and my four drones, then i added another person and the boost stopped being applied i returned one drone to my ship and the boost started working again.

Bonus applying to mining drones might be working as intended; but counting drones as squad members . . . can't see how that could be. It does make me wonder if all fleet bonuses benefit drones in flight. That could be a big deal if it means fighters and fighter bombers are getting buffed by active gang links in combat.

EvE is supposed to suck.  Wait . . . what was the question?

That is either a bug or a new addition they forgot to mention in the patch notes.

I have run a mining fleet with 4 ships with 5 mining drones each, a total of 24 in fleet if drones are counted as fleet members. I had no issues with fleet boosts, but Have not done this for a couple months. I think my booster has wing command 2 but I always run my fleets with a single squad and squad booster.

I never tested if boosts affected drones, but if it has been changed so drones are now considered fleet members, to the point where exceeding your total fleet count, including drones, caused boosts to fail. Well that is either a new feature or a bug. I would say bug. But it would not be the first time CCP has made a change that was not mentioned in the notes.

P.S. leadership is a rank 1 skill. Getting it to 5 is easy, even just to 4 is less than 1 day training. If you are boosting there is no reason to have it at 2.

Or more likely, putting the squad well over capacity and denying a bunch of supercarriers a good chunk of their EHP.
