New to EVE i found one interesting thread in the forum, already on the first page I was lost in translation.
I could not understand the discussion because acronyms were used anytime.
FIS, CSM, WIS, NeX,FW, CQ ...
Is there a Acronym dictionary out there ?
Well if not, Mai pen rai, I'll learn the hard way :)

FIS = ?
CSM = Council of Stellar Management
WIS = Walking In Stations
NeX = This isn't an acronym, it's a currency for use in the 'Nex' store
FW = Faction Warfare
CQ = Captain's Quarters

Sadly, there's no acronym dictionary. Just try using google or asking on the forum, I'm afraid.

FiS = Flying in Space, as opposed to Walking in Stations.

There's more in the Evelopedia. "List of EVE Online terms useful to new players", "Glosarry".

NeX isn't a currency, Aurum (AUR) is the currency used in the NeX (Noble Exchange) stores

FIS = Flying in Space, the biggest and most important part of EVE

EDIT:

The CSM (Council of Stellar Management is a group of players who have been elected by all other players in EVE to provide a link from the player base to CCP. They work closely with CCP to give them feedback from the community to improve EVE as the players want too.

I would like to preemptively clear something up.

Some people will tell you that BB stands for battleship. You have my permission to call these people nubs.

IRL, many navies do use BB as a callsign for battleship, but in eve, battleship is BS. BB stands for blackbird, the caldari jamming cruiser.

This has been a public service announcement, return to freedom and consumption.

The beatings will continue until posting improves. -Magnus Cortex

The Wikipedia is a great resource, and will be updated soon with a new search function and better linking pages.
I attached the link to the glossary, which while large includes all the terms you need to know. Clinking on the links both in the document and at the bottom of the page will provide the information you are looking for.
