Guys the memory is not the issue, stop giving bad advice, if it doesnt support SM 3 it wont work, its that simple. You are best of getting a SM 3 card, 5 if possible, they are very cheap.

I would try 7 on it. It should run ok on 2GB of ram so long as you don't install a pile of crappy applications that hang around eating up ram. XP is starting to show it's age and you may suffer security and performance optimisation limitations going forward.

Edit: Ok yeah SM is going to screw you :(
