Is anyone else excited? Era of the all-in-one Super Carrier is over and no more 15min log off timer if you're being engaged, among other things. It should be really interesting.

Anyways, I think the changes as a whole strikes a decent balance. Supercaps are gonna be as good as they ever where against structures and other capital ships, and will still be essential to take and hold sov. However, supercaps will be far less effctive against subcaps, effectively nerfing "supercaps online" to hell. This is a good thing.

And the new global anti-logoffski mechanic (no this affects all ships, not only capitals) = PURE GOLD CCP!

Yes, GG CCP. Supercaps are now completely useless again....well except for the blobs....Oh wait....Oops


Basically, unless you can fly a support fleet, they are completely useless. So corps and smaller alliances now only have a floating garage...

Fully suport CCP on this long LONG overdue balancing.

Caps and SuperCaps broke the EVE Balance system, and this will go a long distance to restoring that balance.

Sorry boys, no more unsupported 30 SuperCarrier Hotdrops without any risk whatsoever.

Want to deploy your Supers? You can. Bring a Conventional Fleet too.

As it f'ing should be.

Nice work CCP.

However one serious consideration MUST be looked at. Supers and Titans in low sec, its just not right. Remove offensive capabilities in low sec altogether. This mass SC/Titan blobbing by failed 0.0 alliances in Low sec is killing it...big time...

Honestly with the new changes to the ships I don't think they'll be much of a problem at all. Null sec alliances do one of two things in lowsec: Blob subcaps, or blob supercaps. At least now when they blob supers you can kill them. And when they blob subcaps... you can kill them.

so ANY WAY i'm willing to buy all of your supers for the price of the insurance you would get for self destructing them, seeing as how people think there so useless now.

carriers and titans to.

All automated intel should be removed from the game including Instant local/jumps/kills/cynos for all systems/regions.Eve should report nothing like this to the client/3rd party software.Intel should not be force fed to players. Player skill and iniative should be the sources of intel.

While i rarely am affected by the presence of captials, let me give this new dev blog a big ol' YES YES YEEEESSS!

Some of the changes are decent and could go in the favor of actual balancing. One change I am extremely excited about is

It all sounds great except for the Moros change which completely removes it's primary role. Should've left that Dread's drone bay alone IMO. Change to supercarriers also means no more dropping twenty T2 sentry drones to rat up all kids of isk in null sec.

EVE has never been about being balanced (hybrids have been terrible how long now?) The game is about figuring out how to counter your opponent with the ships you can field.

Spoiler alert: the key to killing super caps is turning their hardeners off

a Wyvern with hardeners has 43m ehp
a Wyvern without hardeners has 12m ehp

so lets say you field a 100 man fleet which anyone who is taking on super caps should be able to field and its a easy number. also your fielding hurricanes because they are cheap.

canes deal 500dps and nuet out 360gj every 12 seconds per ship

so in 36 seconds you turn the hardeners off on any super cap with this fleet

in another 240 seconds you would melt the Wyvern off the field with 50k dps killing 20b with 4b isk worth of ships


Now if the Wyvern had tried logging off it would only have 4m ehp because you lose skill bonuses and implants so it would only take 80 seconds to melt it off the field with a 100man cane fleet

The dread drone nerf, makes me glad I trained all race dreads. Can't see why they did it tbh.
