Eve won't start after patch

So eve got patched today and now it wont start. The launcher comes up, says client is ready, but when I push play the button greys out and nothing happens. The only other thing I have done is install bitdefender internet security 2013. I tried turning off the firewall but nothing happens. I am on a desktop running win 7 64bit. It ran fine before the patch. Not sure if it is something to do with bitdefender or the patch.

edit: the launcher is also set to only display when eve requires patching, yet it is still coming up

edit: definately not bit defender, i uninstalled it to see if it made a difference, still having the same issue. I have also run the repair tool a few times as well.

edit: so client was patched and i can run it from the exe file in the bin folder, so something must be broken in the launcher. Is there a way to reinstall just the launcher?

CCP's requirement of this patch should probably have waited until the standard Tuesday when CCP would be there to repair any issues arising. I couldn't get the patch to install at all, so trying a clean install, but still unable to play EVE for now.

So weekend 'silent patches' aren't such a good idea unless you're going to have staff available to address problems, CCP?

Many us getting this BS issue. Ive tried new launchers, old launchers. DL full client and patch ingame. Tried patch from froends computer and importing and still fails.... BLAH
