I just joined EVE the other day and was wanting to get into solo/small group pvp. What I was wonder was is there a viable minmatar stealth or sniper ship for what i'm wanting to do? Not looking to jump into it so have the time to wait till a tech 2 ship/fit. If anyone has any suggestions it be much appreciated. Also if there is a ship for what I'm wanting please link me to a fit. Thanks!

Good for you for wanting to get into PvP so early Smile . For stealthy ships there are not that many for solo but in small gang Recon Ships have a good role. For small gang I suggest a Rapier for Minmatar. The Hound is a great stealth bomber that could be used if you ever do Black Ops work, or just want something fun to fly. For sniping, you have the exceptional Tornado Battlecruiser that works well in small gang. Unfortunately snipers don't have a niche in solo PvP, as they cannot hold a target. MY best advice is to pick a ship you like in the market and research as much as you can to get to know the ins and outs of it. Good luck and fly dangerous Cool

He's been playing for a couple days and you recommend T2 ships requiring very good skills to fly correctly? Really?

OP, go with one of the original Destroyers or frigates for a good start. They're cheap, can be fit fairly well, and you'll learn quickly with those ships. The frigates have seen a recent resurgence in popularity thanks to buffs from CCP. Plenty of threads here with fits, so just experiment for a couple days to see what feels right, and go there.

There's also a thread on corps to join to get into PVP: RvB is a good first choice if you don't mind rules of engagement, and take an Agony Unleashed BASIC course to give you the tools you'll need to succed.

If you want to snipe I would recommend a Railgun Cormorant. The skills to fit one properly will take some time to train, but they're well worth it. If you enjoy flying it, when you get older you'll also enjoy the Railgun Ferox.

Minmatar have Artillery, but they're hard to fit and don't exactly "snipe", unless you're in a Tornado, but a good Tornado fit is probably a few months away for you.
