Why is this happening to my temperate planets?

And what I mean by that is this.

This problem only seems to happen to temperate planets. What gives? It's been like this since I upgraded to Retribution. How can I fix this madness?

Try different shader settings and/or other graphics settings. Most Mac users have been plagued by odd colored planets over the years.
