So four empire regions, connected low sec regions and of course null and wormhole systems.

Would you host an instance on your private server and invite friends to play, build, destroy and create?

Add a single player story line - Why not? Would you play it?

Its time to stand up against the bad empire based CEO telling falsehoods about what new characters can accomplish and pushing them towards an in game experience of drudgery and loneliness keeping them in the shadow of ignorance for at nest their own profit at worse apathy towards all the experiences that Eve has to offer.

No. There is no AI or script bad enough to substitute for human beings.

Why would I not want to play with 450,000 other people?

Interaction with people is by far the only selling point of EVE. Even if you are "soloer", you are still dealing with people on a daily basis. I have no idea what would you want to do in almost empty world tbh.

Posting in a stealth "Star Citizen is going to suck" thread.

A professional astro-bastard was not available so they sent me.

No.

But, you can definitely put a positive spin on this thread:

You have 5 no's, that means of EVE's player base of 450,000 accounts, 399,995 are yes! or at least positively considering your idea.

Gee. You've actually seen 450,000 people on line? How was the lag?

Play on the test server and avoid 6-CZ if you want to see how this feels.

Sorry, Merouk. You might want to check your math.

We were talking about this once. What if there were only four of us and we wanted to build up our private force of ships, even to do level 4 missions, we would be playing for months just to get the materials and the BPCs for the T2 gear. For a single player to fuel and run a small pos you would need around 11 hours of ice mining a month or so (if you get good ice, more if you use the high-sec junk... and first you would need to get the BPOs for the mining barges, which means being able to survive in low and null, etc, etc, etc... it would be a major grind that would suck without cheating.

One plus side, on a private server you could have your own logs and they might show something.

This message brought to you by Experience(tm). When common sense fails you, experience will come to the rescue. Experience(tm) from the makers of CONCORD.

Only when I am 90 years old, suffer from Alzheimer, CCP has pulled the plug on EVE Online, and my great grandchildren want me to remember the good times of my past. Then I'd be playing it like I was about to die!!

Loss is meaningful. Therefore is the loss of meaning likewise meaningful. It is the source of all trolling.

As far as dumb ideas go, this is one of them.

In much the same way as I would play Civ5 if it had no map, no units and no tech tree, and in roughly the same way as I would play Battlefield without guns or vehicles and only with bots (but not against… no-one would be on the other side).

…in other words, no. Why play a game where the game bits have been removed?

No different than when only 50k are online. That's part of the beauty of EVE: they don't have to bee online for me to play with them.

Absolutely not. Without large quantities of other players, this game would suck. If you want a taste of what that is like, go roll around on the SISI server.

If we were talking about WoW then yes I would be all for private servers. In that game, the presence of other players is actually a detriment rather than a necessity. One spends the first 30 minutes after logging into WoW doing nothing but putting all the vocal idiots on block.

To sum up, players in EvE make the game. Without their presence you would have no market. You would have mothing to buy or fly. Taking space would be meaningless with no opposition.
