..eggs and milk and Bisquik according to this thread.

When suddenly, as I walked into the street with the store, I heard some loud, high-pitched scream. It came from the elementary school that was near the store; and while I was still startled, the screams grew louder and louder.
Someone's in trouble, I thought- some child being beaten up, molested or murdered on the schoolyard.
Instinctively, I was walking towards the screams, while a strange thought crossed my mind: With the rise of cellphones, there are hardly any more public phone boxes around. If I was a superhero, there would be nowhere where I could quickly change into my cool spandex costume and cape. Difficult times we live in.

As I turned around the corner, I saw this girl lying on the sidewalk, screaming like mad, with two other girls kneeling above her and pushing her to the ground. Re-evaluating the situation, I realized that those two girls were not attacking the screaming one, but actually trying to calm her down.
And man, did she scream, it reminded me of the monsters from the old Godzilla movies I used to watch as a kid. Ear-piercing, inhumane- no sane, god-fearing person could ever produce such a sound, and this little girl was maybe only ten years old.
“I kill her!!! I kill her!!! AAAAAAARGH..That filthy rotten ******!!!! I kill her!!!! AAAAR!!! That ******** ******* ******* !!!!! I kill her!!!!! WAAAAHHHHH!!!”
Slowly I backed off....don’t get involved.. I thought- that’s not your business here...
The young girl kept screaming and spitting out swear words that would have made me proud if I had known them at that age.
One of the girls on top was talking in a soothing voice: “Hush now...calm down..she’s your mother...”
Unimpressed, the screaming girl was punching into her general direction and struggling to break free: “ I f***** KILL THAT B*****!!! I KILL HER!! SHE DELETED MY FACEBOOK ACCOUNT!! THAT S**** DELETED MY FACEBOOK ACCOUNT!!!”

the thought tickles my brain. WoW account deletion is old, a hate[bio]massing by spiteful girlfriend is worse, but... facebook tears is still new to me.

oh, the phone booth thing -love it- stream of consciousness is so much fun to dissect after-the-fact

Wow, that's surprising.

I can see that our failed American education system and social mores are translating quite nicely across the Atlantic. Cool

Sad, really.

Facebook may be the most tediously antisocial creation ever.

I haven't come across a tool that allows you to contact so many people whilst ignoring the people sat next to you.....well, ever.

I was on Facebook for about a year with the purpose of communicating with old high school classmates for our upcoming reunions, as that is where the large reunion group organizes things.

Unfortunately I got to sit back and watch as the group fractured hatefully into two factions due to the usurping of certain minds by the Tea Party (my high school was in Texas). It became hostile very quickly and sadly I realized that I want nothing to do with either of these 'factions'.

I then unsubscribed and did my best to erase Facebook Tracks as best I could.

Facebook killed my 30th high school reunion but good.

So much for The Social Network. What a hateful piece of crap.

What ten year old needs a Facebook account?

My kid does not have a Facebook account, or any other social media account of any kind. She is, in both mine and my wife's opinion, way to young for anything like that. She is allowed to social with her schoolmates, the girls on her basketball team, and the kids in the neighborhood whose parents we know. She doesn't even have a computer and is not allowed on mine or the wife's. She lost that privilege when she fried the $250 notebook we bought her for Christmas several years ago. Spilled apple juice on it one day after we told her no eating or drinking around computers. She can have one, when she can buy it with her own money.

The only electronic device my daughter does have, is a cellphone. We gave it to her for a very specific reason. Like my wife told her, "This is my phone I am giving to you in the event either I or your father need to get in touch with you." The phone was my wife's old Droid. It can only be used to make voice calls, and text. She has a very short list of people she can call or text.

If either me or the wife caught or found out our "little darling" was acting like that, believe me, there would be hell to pay. It really is too bad that many parents in this country allow their kids to get away with so much. People are so worried about being a friend to their kid instead of being a parent and raising them with respect, self worth, yadda yadda.

Surrender is still your slightly less painful option.

That can be risky.
