Are next generation game consoles already irrelevant?

The point at which consoles become irrelevant is the point where consoles become nothing more then artificially limited general purpose computers, and people notice it. given the increasing use of media pc's, that might be this generation, but im betting itll be the next one.

dunno. not much has happened. what did you have 10 years ago. iirc, Halo for me. also splinter cell. dunno. lol EVE, everquest, Warcraft III: frozen throne, I was running a hacks allowed Counter-Strike server over DSL.....
