FPS drop in Captain Quarters

Hello,

i am having the following issue: when i enter the captain quarters, the game runs smooth with around 40 fps (good enough for me); after a while, say, 20 seconds maybe, the fps begins to drop to around 20~25 with huge spikes, which make it unenjoyable.

When i ran the game in windows 7, i didnt have this problem, but now that i have ran it in windows 8 i am having this issue =(, and i actually love being in the CQ.

I have a Nvidia 555M GT graphics card, and i checked that the GPU is always running at the same frequency (which eliminates possibilities like fps drop due to the graphics card itself downclocking).

Does anyone have this issue?
