Air force pilots always cut up jet fighters and stick all the parts together because it's safe to do that and aerodynamics are only marginally useful to jet fighters anyway.

its a good job aerodynamics mean jack in space then isn't it :) these are parts that are listed as safe for the vehicle, just like if you own a motorcycle and take the rear end off one and put it on another, the bike doesn't spontaneously combust. it still goes on, and passes it's MOT/ legal tests.

This has got to be a troll...

If not, OP, using your idea we'd end up with ships that have 24 slots and near-limitless fitting capabilities. Not something anybody wants to happen, I think.

funny little story about a rl prototype weapons system that never made it past testing named DIVAD.

The design concept: take an air born radar system (was supposed to be on fixed wing aircraft), slap it on a ground based anti-air gun system. Supposed to saves money using current tech and radar is radar right.....? Nope. this multimillion dollar abortion could not shoot a damn thing out the sky. Fire at target and only god knew where the hell those rounds went. as they did not hit test flying targets doing the most complicated of flight moves like......fly in a straight line at slow speed. Moral of the story....sometimes selective interchange is bad.

Your rl slap on auto parts theory....has been used to help expedite the hot date between JDM "monster" cars in the US and a DOT car crusher. Take skyline gt-r, American DOT standard ghetto rig it by any means necessary according to that import company who "has the hookup" and that GTR should be cool to roll down main street USA in any town, right? Nope. Except for a lucky few, they did all that jury rigging and the DOT said ha ha nice try....but hell no. Weld in all the metal to build up the frame to meet US standards you want, detune the motor via piggy back or standalone system all you want to pass emissions....that car is a mofo pita to be approved as street legal. Many have tried, most have failed.

Rest of this stuff.....game balance. If you get the feeling CCP had in mind to give your ship everything you ever wanted but that one or 2 final touches tpo be perfect, you'd be right. Most itmes it breaks down to gank or tank. CCP wants yout to pick one over the other or opt for a mix of the 2 that does neither well.

If EVE was real life or if for say reality was eve

Just because you have a 27" in monitor and you play EvE in a basement with no lights on does not mean EvE is real life, this is a game.
Turn the lights on and look around you, see the keyboard and mouse you are using? You are not in a spaceship.
If you need further proof ask your mum/dad where the front door is and you shall see the "outside" (beware of the Sun, it can burn your fragile nerd skin).

Finaly if you like to customise you should try the "Need For Speed" range of games.

little do you all realize we already have exactly what the OP wants- gnosis.

there just happens to be a finite amount of them.

That's a Templar, an Amarr fighter used by carriers.

Yup.

Horrible idea.

Trolls and poor spelling aside, it's actually a very common idea that's taken as granted for quite a while after the best expansion in all of Eve.

Unfortunately, no extension came to be, despite overwhelming demand. To date, half of t3 subs are still broken, t3s still limited to cruisers, hitting the business end of the nerf bat, and wh space long forgotten. Meanwhile, CCP works on pointless things like space barbies and PS3 shooters. It's a sad state of affair.

It was a better, more optimistic era. Ppl imagined whole lines of t3s and endless possibilities from whs. You guys wouldn't understand.

It's your misguided feelings of entitlement that is ........ a sad state of affairs.

Dust is not pointless, it's still in beta
Beta means 'in development, not yet complete' ... just so your clear on why it appears to need so much polishing

How many other game companies have the vision and gumption to take 2 different gaming systems, on 2 different platforms, and create a unique product. CCP just stuck 2 fingers up at the rest of the development world.

WH's are fine as they are, they have benefits and those benefits don't arrive on a silver platter, they have to be worked for.

It's you that doesn't understand ...

Games companies like to have more than 1 option, it gives them flexibility, and more opportunities for market share, which means more profit ... CCP exist to make profit ... our entertainment is an afterthought that occurs after that primary goal.

Dear OP: No.

Dear OP: Stop complaining. The answer is still No.

Hmmm....
Ive got this orca, and its got a lot of space.
Ive got all these Skiffs....

lets scrap the command ship bonus systems and the tractor beam bonus. and weld these 6 or so skiff mining turret systems in here
Lets also scrap that ship maintenance bay, make that into ore hold space,

now lets go sit in blue donut null and mine with 18 effective strip miners and a 500km3 cargo
Per account.
those dreads mixed with carriers (for fighters) get real cheap.

Its not possible to please all the people all the time, but it sure as hell is possible to Displease all the people, most of the time.
